Not the first time she had said that. Link had already endured more than enough of this dark cave for his liking, but he wasn't about to tell Zelda that. He was more worried about his torch, and when it might go out. Navigating in the dark would be difficult, but more troublesome than that was the princess herself, At her tiny size, if she fell of his shoulder he might never find her in the gloom.

"Look at that rock over there. Those structures are so strange... how do you think they might have been formed?"

"..."

The past hundred years had done nothing to dampen her curiosity. Neither had shrinking, as Link had discovered today. When she found a strange, glowing rock in the tunnel, she grabbed it before he could express his misgivings. The strange aura that spilled from it quickly reduced her in size, the princess shrinking down to the size of a doll. She was shocked at first, but panic quickly gave way to amazement, excitement even. Link had wanted to turn back, but Zelda had insisted on continuing.

"This size might actually be useful," she had told him, "I can squeeze into tiny passages, if need be. When else will I ever have an opportunity like this?"

She quickly discovered that getting around on her own two legs wasn't very fast, thanks to her diminished size. So she had enjoyed the rest of the journey atop Link's shoulder. Luckily he still had an arm free to swing a sword.

"Ooh, what's that?" Zelda suddenly chirped, "get closer! I want to see it!"

Link rolled his eyes, reluctantly trudging towards Zelda's latest discovery...
