Brother, i bought a Dreamcast last April just to play this (and JSR and the sonic adventures)
I'd read so much about this beforehand and done a lot of research. Plenty of people have said its brilliant, so i had to try it out for myself.

The anticipation for it when the Dreamcast was released was beyond measure. Double that for Shenmue 2. A lot of people moan endlessly why there isn't a 3rd/final instalment, believe me I know it will come; actually Sega recently announced they still want to make it and look Ryo just appeared in that racing game you know it's going to happen ! I only hope I'm still alive when they finally do it lol. The main thing is at least the games were made, we can treasure and play them over & over !

lol, one of the main reasons i am going to buy sonic & sega allstars racing is because Ryo is in it 
Anyways, It would be amazing if sega released a trailer (short or long, i dont care) of Shenmue 3 at this years E3, But that might be asking for too much.

Oh my God, I LOVE Shenmue, with a passion. Easily my favorite series. I can't even begin to describe what it means to me, hah hah.
And how about that Sonic and Sega All-Star Racing... featuring RYO HAZUKI?! It's been almost seven years since we last saw some new Shenmue!

I always love when I see more Shenmue fans out there. It's as equally loved by me, I spent so many hours on this game you don't want to know ! And is still amazes me, there's nothing, not one single game experience like it !
Yes I just saw the Sega racer trailer with Ryo, when the music started I almost cried XD
I do still really feel even after so long we're going to see another Shenmue and in HD with the extra processing power consoles have now it surely will be one of the best ~

Exactly. Shenmue kind of became my gold standard for gaming, and I've yet to play something that matches it. It's always great to find other people who are so passionate about the game!
Between the Dreamcast's 10th and Ryo & Ryo All-Ryo Racing, Shenmue's getting a pretty big influx of attention... here's hopin' well get that new installment!

That's right matey early 2000 on the great yet short lived Sega Dreamcast. It was a benchmark console though that created many first's in the industry; 4 controller ports and a built in modem for online gaming not to mention unique games that inspired the ones that followed !

lol I play it all the time ! I'm even replaying Shenmue 2 right now and trying to get the best time on the 70 man battle !

I loved the fact that Mark gives Ryo a toy forklift depending on how he races and he's like "thanks ... ?"
I never played Seaman but I know it featured the Sega presidents' head on a fish or something, seemed very bizarre but ingenious but that's what Sega were like in there hay-day; best games, best arcades, best ideas ! There was this point where they were simply on fire and then they went bankrupt and sold themselves to japanese gangsters(SAMMY) ?!?
I wonder if they'll ever return to form again ~

Yes! It was my favorite game on the Dreamcast (: Very nice game, I loved how interactive the environment was, and just the character of Ryu. All the minigames, and little jobs and time sensitive responses were cool (:

It really agitates me that they're not going to be making the third game. Well the only games that are pretty much active are the Yakuza series including Kenzan since it is pretty much identicle to shenmue but different types of gameplay.

That's not true, they haven't ever officially announced that the 3rd game/finale or others won't be made.
It's something worth remembering, although of course I don't blame those that have given up hope ...
It's been 8 years since Shenmue 2 and 4 years since Shenmue Online launched, however Yu Suzuki is still alive and even when he passes the entire series has been planned since conception !
