Description
Did this for the January winner of my Creature Illustration Lottery over on my Patreon. Had a ton of fun with this one, I love all things crocodilian. I also created a video tutorial from this painting. It comes with a bunch of stuff including a psd, brushes, jpegs, and not to mention a 1hr 41min 1080p video. Plus its only three bucks. If you read the description I didn't design the creature. Plus there's absolutely nothing wrong with crocodilians with wings for dragons, thats pretty cool in my book.

Its really amazing its just I see logic problems. I know first off its not really meant to be seen as a logical creature since it has wings..XD but the body..Its the body of a crocodile. Crocodiles are bulky, sturdy creatures and to put wings on it...? Idk to me i imagine it trying to take off then plummeting to the ground with the tail since a crocodiles tail is used to push itself through the water therefor is VERY muscular and heavy XD but I have no place to say and don't take this offensively please its just my opinion

To your point, there's no reason the dragon couldnt be semi aquatic and have use for a meaty tail.

Did you base this off Kaprosuchus? I can practically feel the Mahajangasuchid vibes emanating off it. Amazing job on the squamation, the scales on the wing membranes are particularly awesome-looking.
