Finally done!
I've been working on this piece on and off for over a month.
I'm still very shaky at digital, but it's super fun! I love how versatile Photoshop is.
This was a practice on anatomies which turned out as a completed piece. Go figure XD
So here you go! A picture of Africa overlooking Magadi Lake! What do you think?

Vision -
This is a very detailed, and well thought out piece, but the leopard is a bit hard to see at first glance even though it is in the foreground, which is fine sense they are rather hard to spot in the wild in the first place. The flamingos in the background give a vibrant color to the overall piece, and give a bit more life to an area that is usually dry with little rain.
Originality -
I myself have seen many drawings, and paintings, that depict a landscape like this that include some type of wildlife. Although sense this is a part of your comic series, adding the character does give it some more depth to those of us that have read the comic.
Technique-
Honestly I do not have much to say on the technique, just that the brushes and colors chosen really make this piece stand out among the rest. the trees and mountains are drawn with care, and even though just specks in the sky the flamingos are clearly identifiable.
Impact -
As a reader of the story I feel it made a huge impact on not only me but the story itself. It gives a sense of hope, and relief to the character who has been searching for days, and makes it seem as if everything will turn out fine.

This is just so stunning! Nearly everything is perfect! From the background til the foreground, but of course there are some 'mistakes' everyone makes to become a better artist.
Starting from the background with positive then negative.
1st of all, your background looks like a beautiful painting. I like how highly detailed you drew the Savannah(?) and the mountains, but the flamingos didn't worked out as well. Because they could be also colorful flowers flying very high in the air.
2nd you choose three very beautiful art styles, but I think sometimes one art style is enough.
3rd how you drew the tree is simply beautiful. But one thing irritates me. The white lighting on the upper tree half. The contrast is a bit extreme.
4th besides that the belly looks big and the contrast again a bit extreme, everything is perfect.

It took me a long while to determine whether this was watercolor or digital before looking at the description
But words cannot express how well and how quickly you've adapted to using a tablet! It's as if you've been using a tablet to draw for years now :') Everything looks gorgeous and that anatomy practice paid off because Africa looking wonderful~!

I've only really used the default round brush that comes with Photoshop, and a custom one for the leaves

Okay impressive that must have taken long
It looks almost like one of your pencil paintings.
I usually paint with Mypaint to improve my brush skills.
But when I use PS I use many brushes and custom brushes to be quicker with backgrounds etc.
Big formats would take me forever otherwise.
And another question, you live in Europe don't ya?
Have you ever get Farber Castel pencils?
