Something I've been wanting to paint for a while. I'm not sure if I captured the emotion as well as I wanted to, but I'm not terribly upset with it.There's something wrong with a society that can call anorexia beautiful.

I am taken aback by her pained expression. That was extremely well done.
I am torn on the blood. It is evocative, but I wonder if it underscores the pains of anorexia or takes focus away from it. Her expression and gaunt figure alone would have gotten your point across. Still, I think the overall picture is hard to view without an emotional shock.

Yeah, that was something I was wondering about as well =/ initially I was going to have her hands positioned over her stomach, but I realized that and blood would probably lend itself to a totally different interpretation...
I think I might try looking at it without the blood and see if it seems more effective
