In other news, as someone who has done the whole music thing, I'm trying to decide if 'syncopation' is an accurate description/metaphor/what-have-you of what is/may be going on in the scene and whether or not it might have any foreshadowing for upcoming pages. >.>

I know this is unrelated to the plot of the comic but I gotta know: what do the musically inclined (ESPECIALLY Erik as a composer) think of Otamatones?
I myself, as a composer, think they're adorable and wonderful.

Never heard of Otamatones before, but I came to the conclusion a long time ago that Erik was way ahead of his time musically, and was basically trying to invent rock & roll for the pipe organ with Don Juan Triumphant. The Webber and Kay adaptations helped a lot with this impression, but the idea was that it was so powerfully sexual it could practically drive people mad, right? And it basically came across as chaotic noise to anyone who heard it at the time? Sounds like rock to me. {= )
All that is to say, I wouldn't be surprised if he embraced anything new and on the edge. (But not Autotune, because if you're not good enough to hit the right notes by yourself, then you deserve to be Punjabbed.)

Any instrument has a time, a place, and an occasion where it will not only be the best instrument for the job, but absolutely necessary. He's not entirely sure when that occasion will be (for all we know, it may just be driving Javert up the wall), but he'll be thinking about it for a while.

We all knew, based on Leroux, that Erik can go either way given need and his true morality (he did have it) but this is unnerving - I keep thinking - Angel of Music this beautiful - but Lucifer fell too (though perhaps not for the same reasons).Β The prior is legend, the latter will be heart breaking.
