Personality:
Calm | Clever | Eloquent | Neat | Friendly | Protective
As gentle and calm as shallow waves, it almost seems like Ellie hardly ever takes things to heart. The ghostly smile that appears often shows up in all of their emotions. Be it stressed, angry, or sad even, it seems to always make its appearance, which can cause them to be mistaken as aloof. Nevertheless, Ellie still gets angry, and happy. Maybe the former more often, but they always handle these emotions in a collective demeanor so that they can keep a level head. If they see that they're feeling too bad then they won't hesitate to leave and make some space to relax. It's very rare to break that aspect of them. Besides this, Ellie is pretty friendly. Maybe not approachable, but they're definitely sweet enough to hold a good conversation if its called for or initiated. They don't ever mind new friends and will talk if interested. Although they may not speak much on their own, whenever they do they find words easy to string together. They're amazing at speaking and talking to them could be an interesting experience. This gives them an easy ability to persuasion if they ever needed to. A real salesman at heart. As for ease with their daily life at home, Ellie grew up requiring cleanliness and organization. They love to clean and reset everything into its proper places regularly.
Hidden Trait: With loved ones and close friends, Ellie becomes very watchful and protective. This can cause them to be more aggressive with threatening people instead of turning the other cheek and will cause them to be much more fussy over how well they care for themselves. Somewhat like a caretaker.
Quiet | Earthy | Private | Strict
Ellie has never really been much of a talker. They usually normally speak when spoken to or when they feel like their input is required. They aren't necessarily shy at all, but do prefer to watch rather than get involved. Likewise they don't like to speak much of about themself or their history. Personal questions generally will be avoided if they become too revealing. When they do speak however, they have a very direct and earthy way of speaking. Vulgar words and their use aren't very uncommon. Unfortunately, Ellie also has a tendency to be a little strict with unmentioned rules they have set for themself or others. This is good for them personally whenever things need to be done, but can be a stickler for others.
Distant | Authoritarian | Reclusive | Critical | Inconsiderate
Moreover with Ellie's private tendencies, they can be highly detached and reclusive. There is nothing that they hate more in a simple meeting than unnecessary physical contact. Hugs, arms on shoulders, even unwelcome handshakes will spark a sudden cold reaction that can contrast their friendliness at the time. This may or may not be cleared for close friends, it really just depends on their mood. They don't particularly hate group settings but don't exactly like them either. It may take a lot of convincing for them to come along on an outing they were invited to. At home, they tend to stick to their room and immediately leave common areas to stay alone. They're rarely ever caught out watching tv or anything with family or roommates unless they're doing something that requires them to be out of their room, such as eating dinner or cleaning. As they are also not much of a talker unless initiated, one of the easiest ways to get them to talk for extended amount of time on their own is by doing something they see as wrong. Putting a book back in the wrong place, washing counters wrong, almost anything. They will not hesitate to criticize and "reteach" how it should be done. This can also bring out Ellie's more controlling tendencies. Ellie can be terribly bossy and restrictive in this sense. Things, to them, should be done a certain way. Anything else and anyone disagreeing is wrong. Keeping with these tendencies leads to their knowledge of how people are feeling. Ellie is very aware of how things they do may make people feel, but they are not very considerate in them at all.

History:
Kiddie
To a skilled chef and a university professor, Ellie was the first born. Their parents had only known each other for a few months before Ellie came around, their relationship always daring from the start. It was supposed to be a one night thing. Something with no strings attached, as Ellie's mother was already in another relationship at the time. Obviously this didn't really go as planned. Ellie's existence was a huge debate between their mother and their mother's real boyfriend at the time. It was thought that she could let Ellie pass of as his, so that there wouldn't be an issue. All of it would blow over just fine, so he went on believing this until Ellie was born. Ellie was born with ocular albinism. The dead giveaway that some one was lying. Their mother knew about Ellie's father's ocular albinism. She was aware that it was hereditary, she did her research. She just thought it'd be okay because it was a x-linked thing. What she didn't count on was her being a carrier herself. This caused her to tell the truth about Ellie's father which caused a huge unrest between their relationship, but they still agreed on raising Ellie together.
For as long as Ellie can remember, they've been made aware of their blindness. Their parents would always make a fuss over it. Letting them know of what they couldn't do and what they should do instead. Making them learn things like Braille when they were still able to read like everyone else, just at a different distance. Making them learn how to use a white cane when they could get around just fine, just at a different pace. Thankfully, these things began to ease up when more were added to the family. Around the time they were five and six, they gained two sisters, Rose and Odette. With two new additions to the family, the focus and protection on Ellie was uplifted, but only slightly. Rose and Odette provided some form of distraction to their parents, but they were still very focused on cushioning every step Ellie tried to take on their own. Especially as Odette's birth was around the time that Ellie had to begin going to school.
This continued up until Ellie was around eight. Ellie had gained yet another sister, Sonia, when they were seven, which added up to this. Their parents had their hands full, with four children and one that they treated like another baby. Ellie got fed up with it and told their parents to back off. To let them try to do things on their own. They were very reluctant on it, but since Ellie had thrown such a huge tantrum about it they agreed to it. To their complete joy, they were able to finally breathe without their parents on their back. But their parents were just replaced with the ever growing army of younger siblings that they kept producing. The worst of it all came when Ellie was ten. To Ellie's utter demise there were triplets. Julie, Evangeline, and Jack. Their parents were losing their mind. To focus on the three demons that they'd just had, more responsibility was placed on Ellie to watch and care for their other three siblings.
Teenager
Ellie did their best to control their siblings for a while, but they were a mess. They did everything wrong. They always caused some form of trouble. None of them could get along and it was always their responsibility to keep everyone controlled and together. Whenever something did go wrong, it was their fault for not keeping everyone composed. This made Ellie bitter and annoyed. Even more so as the triplets were old enough to be left alone with Ellie. Their parents frequently left away to work, as well as to spend time with one another to try to mend their failing relationship that had been declining ever since Odette was born. As Ellie grew older, they began to get increasingly annoyed at their parents' absence as well as their near constant scolding whenever their younger children did something wrong. Since they wouldn't listen, whenever they were gone Ellie would leave it up to their siblings to choose who was in charge and would lock themself away in their bedroom to not have to deal with them. It only caused more trouble with their parents, which Ellie tried their best to ignore and push away.
This worked for a while until they were just too upset at it all. Ellie went along with what their parents kept asking them to do. They went back to watching their siblings, but with a more scary approach. They would allow their temper to get to them instead of holding back and was much more strict with the rules and regulations they had set for them to behave and act civilized. Thankfully everyone calmed down for a while, but Rose eventually went to talk to their parent's about how mean Ellie was to them lately. Once again, Ellie was confronted about it, which only made them lose their temper again at all the frustration they had about their home situation. Their parents decided that they could at least begin to stay home more often, but not without claiming that Ellie had an issue with their emotional control. Ellie claimed to have great control of their emotions in actuality, but never spoke up about it. Their father decided to find a way for Ellie to redirect their frustration and got them music lessons. This was when Ellie realized how much they loved the sound of classical instruments and began learning how to play the violin. To everyone's surprise, Ellie was a natural and caught on to it much faster than expected.
Ellie's parents did what they promised. They stayed around more often when they weren't working. The kids did have to be kept alone, Ellie was much more mellowed out but stuck to their strict and authoritative tendencies. Everyone was happy for the most part, except for their parents. Them being at home was annoying. They argued more often, which was hurting everyone around them. Ellie couldn't care less about what they argued about or when, but was not okay with how their siblings were feeling hurt about it, so they confronted their parents about it, asking them to go back to whatever it was that was keeping them so well together before. They'd be okay watching their siblings again and, truth be told, many of them were old enough to start watching themselves as well as each other. It took them a while to talk about it, but they did eventually agree to it.
Youngin
Now much older, Ellie decided to take a different approach to their life. It was finally time to break away from their oversized family and live someplace far away. That place, Ellie decided on, would be South Korea. It was a completely different country and deathly far from their home in Portland. Learning a new language and about a different culture would be great for their college major, and being in a place with such an interesting education system was intriguing. Ellie just made the mistake of telling their parents about their plan. Apparently their father was offered to open another restaurant from the one he was currently working at. This gave him the idea to open it in South Korea, right where Ellie was going to go study. Which gave an opportunity for the whole family to move! Ellie tried to convince him not to, but now everyone was excited about growing up in a new country. There was no turning back. Ellie said fuck no, and decided to live in an apartment on their own.
This was great and all for about a year, until Ellie was just unable to keep up with the costs of it and living completely alone as well as extra costs for school. They began looking for another place to live and eventually came upon Seoltang. Not wanting to spend as much as they had before on rent, Ellie decided that they'd opt to sacrifice their peace for roommates. How fun that must be.
