Bio:

Despite her close resemblance to her mother, Nightingale isn’t quite as chill and relaxed as you might think. She’s very loud and rambunctious and loves to play rough. Even though she generally seems to have a laid-back personality and doesn’t stress or get anxious over things she doesn’t really care about, she still has her own problems and tends to be at a loss on how to deal with feelings, usually her own. Which is why she would rather be partying or outside “living it up” rather than feeling her feels. Eventually, she does learn how to deal with stress through healthy outlets and begins to understand herself and self needs a lot better. She does have a calming and soothing aura when she’s relaxed, however, and she’s also very kind and patient which makes her a great listener and easy to talk to. She’s also down-to-earth and has quite a practical mentality once you get to know her, and is careful to make most of her important decisions while thinking realistically.

Nightingale can actually be quite hot-headed when angry or upset, which is why it was so important to her to gain control over her temper. Being raised with Fluttershy taught her to be gentle and careful with her words. While her first reaction is usually impulsive, she’s been improving self-control and thinking rationally. This can be seen when it comes to guys/relationships. When attracted, Nighty can be quite…forward. But because of certain trust issues, she has trouble committing and always breaks things off if it starts to get serious.

Relationships:

Her relationship with her parents is complicated. Since she lived with Fluttershy and Serendipity for most of her childhood and didn’t know who her real parents were until she was 12, she grew up pretty independent and strong-willed. After learning about her parents, Nighty mellowed out a bit more and started to think more logically. However, no matter how much she wishes she could let it roll off her back, her parents are a sensitive subject and she’s easily hurt by related comments and teasing. Other than that, it’s pretty hard to get under her skin.

Her closest friends by far are Misty and Illusion. She met Misty at Flight Camp, where Misty was too shy to greet anypony. Being the outgoing, inclusive pony she is, Nighty invited her to fly together. It quickly became obvious that Misty’s fear of heights wasn’t going to be easily resolved, and Nighty decided to sit out with her and just talk. They’ve been very close ever since and Nighty’s understanding nature and go-getter attitude has definitely helped Misty to be more confident in herself.

Nighty and Illusion’s friendship is a little bit different and more complicated. Even though she thinks Illusion is a little over-the-top dramatic, she still understands why Illusion is that way and is able to empathize with her situation. She might not fully get everything that Lulu has gone through, but she cares deeply which is all Illusion needs.

She’s not super super close with Sugar and Connie, but they have partied together quite a few times. Since her preferred way of getting to know somepony is through conversation and Sugar is usually too busy with parties, they don’t spend a lot of time together. She thinks Connie is a good friend and role model though, and wants to be as chill and energetic as her.

Nighty isn’t as close with Flash and Bliz as she is with their sister. They just don’t see each other that often. Same goes for Dia and Lava. Honeyglow is a different story. He and Nighty hit it off early and they had some adventures together, it broke off before it got too serious. Nighty felt like she wasn’t enough for Honey and didn’t want to get too attached.

Cutie Mark/Special Abilities: Nighty never worried too much about her cutie mark. She figured that she could just roll with whatever she wanted to do and it would naturally pop up, which it eventually did. It was something she never expected though: dance and yoga therapy. Nighty is interested in a lot of ways of decreasing anxiety, but she expected her cutie mark to be something she was more involved in, such as companion animal training or music therapy. She’s a natural at understanding animals like Fluttershy and also loves music. Over time, she realized she didn’t have to give up her other interests, which made her a lot happier and comfortable with her destiny.
