Why should they praise intelligence or logic or reason? The deity of the bible is more concerned with keeping his followers fruitful and multiplying until they strip the land of resources, then he leads them in genocidal attacks on their neighbors. Better to keep the people ignorant so they do not question the paradox between 'Thou shall not kill' and 'Put these people to the sword.'

By that he means "thou shalt not murder" - and God's definition of murder is killing someone without his permission or command.

Only problem is that all-knowing deity is incapable of incompetence. Β Incompetence therefore is indifference (at best) or (more likely) malevolence.
