Oil on canvas, 25+ hours: the most time I've ever spent on a painting. This still life took the entire summer to finish (well, sort of*) but it was worth it. I really like the combination of colors and the airy feel that the shadow conveys. I was thrilled when I began noticing the different tones within the shadow. It's a painting with a happy feel to it.

*I began the painting in June, then spent two months away. When I returned in August I continued to work on the painting (and I had to repaint the plant because it grew). Work continued through September and October. Although the painting didn't take 5 months to do, that's how long the work period was.
