I hope this is good for a comeback piece after almost two years of not arting.

Araçari is an Advanced Aves (bird people in my story) based on the collared araçari
(the jewelry and clothes are supposed to resemble the bird's markings).
He works as a merchant in the Advanced Aves tribe, selling goods produced within
the tribe as well as "imported" goods from the outside world.

Ayyy well this one's not human, but for humans, it's important to pay attention to the hue undertones. Not all dark skin toned people have the same hue undertones. Same with light skin tones, really. And that's not even taking lighting conditions into account. So there's no real "rule of thumb."

Yes I agree. Multiple skin tones to have fun with! I really like the ultra dark black African skin tones with the normal non-straighten hair I think it would be fun as I progress in my coloring and anatomy to start playing more on genetic traits, color etc... I have a nomadic culture I wrote up for my fantasy and I don't want to how do you say fall short on it? I want all my characters to have full ass effort!

I absolutely love the colours here, and his birdy outfit is awesome - especially I like the coat (?) of feathers. Alsp, good work on his face expession, and I like the plants on the front, they frame the picture well

TBH, it's a constant struggle, just arting, or anything, but I keep telling myself that as long as I'm arting, I'm doing good for my purposes, because it really helps in the healing process. And I wish I could finish more pieces, but my brain just doesn't want to work that way sometimes these days (I have so many WIPs, some of them almost finished, and I can't finish them... but I'm still working on them; like how I thought I would have one done for next week, but I haven't been able to do art in two weeks). Anyway, I'll shut up now.

Well I am hopefully here to let you know that if anything I hope you having fun doing it and it's no pressure at all. I can definitely tell ya' that life can get in the way of some things but I'm just happy to hear you are around and I hope you are doing well!
(Also... I must admint... I also have a BUNCH of WIPs this year that need to be finished as well including some finished stuff that not posted yet... but recently I decided to do some simpler pieces that got me motivated for some reason.)
