Description Well, first of all: I've always found Tim Burton's movies and art style to be very interesting. Second, Stop-motion animation is my favorite form of animation(It has a certain... humanity to it that computer generated, and even some examples of traditional animation lacks.). Third, I think Ronald Dahl is one of the best childrens book writers of all time(Considering his occational made up verbs, nouns, and adjectives is not anywhere near Dr. Suess's league.)
That said, I borrowed a copy of the movie James and the Giant Peach, and realised that I never did fan art of my favorite characters from that movie: specifically Miss Spider, and Mr. Earthworm.

So here's the later, the former is on her way. Ever wonder how I got the idea for Batty Buddy? This guy has his "Morphing sunglasses"(that reflect his mood) and timid "We're all going to die slow, painful, unpleasent deaths and then undergo an eternity of torcher in the afterlife" personality.
(I haven't mentioned it before, but Batty is a bit of a timid panicy scaredycat. His backpack, however was inspired by Felix the Cat, and Basket Kate was inspired by Roger Rabbit and Beverly Switzler.)

Interesting to note, the visual look of the movie was based on the illustrations of Lane Smith, not Tim Burton.

The confusion is forgivable though, since their styles are alike.

Considering the age of this post, you probably know by now.

This wasn't a Tim Burton film. It was a Henry Selick film, same as Nightmare and Coraline. Nightmare was based off a poem BY Burton, but it wasn't directed by him. Just because it's stop-motion animation, doesn't mean it's always Tim Burton.

Then you might want to change the title of it or put an Edit thing in the artist comments.

Oh how I do love Tim, Roald and stop motion! ^^ I also have a certain soft spot for those, "We're all going to die!" characters, so Earthworm is definitly high on the list of doom-fearing characters I love. Nice job here!

I like his glasses especially, they were an inspiration to my own character Batty Buddy's sunglasses.

My favorite Tim Burton movie has always been The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's also amazing where some people get their inspirations. Very good Martin.

Thanks. I agree with you on NBC. In my opinion, Who Framed Roger Rabbit is it's only rival, and I think that it is the thing that gave ol' Timmy the respect, admiration, and fans that he currently has(Although Beetlejuice had a good run as a cartoon show.), and Oogy Boogy was the coolest villian ever(Although, he didn't get mentioned all that much in the book version. Sad.).

By the way- did you hear the news about them making a Nightmare Before Christmas videogame?

Yes I have. Although I'm not exactly interested in that, but I am interested in seeing what they're gonna do with Kingdom Hearts II.

And I agree too that Who Framed Roger Rabbit was another great classic. In fact I got it on DVD several months ago. The special one that is. And I still have the video version of the Nightmare Before Christmas. How about that huh?

Yeah, I have both the DVD, and the VHS of Roger Rabbit(which has been missing for years, but I DO have it). Unfortunatly, my mom is kind of the "Watch a movie once and never see it again" type, so I don't get to actually BUY that many movies...
