Description
This is a white lined sphinx moth that I found in the garden. There are usually a good amount of them flying around and drinking from all the flowers.

This one sat on my hand and started to flap its wings and vibrate while staying there for about 2 minutes. Then it lifted off and flew away.

They look like humming birds the way they flap their wings and stick their proboscis, a kind of straw, into the flowers to drink. This is how the moth looks with its proboscis rolled back in.
