Description
Well, there is little mouse art here, and they are actually pretty fun critters... Not that I see them often, they are experts at hiding. Also, a good excuse to draw mushrooms - which is also something I wanted to try!
Some fun facts about the harvest mouse, which I found out while drawing this:
- They are are smallest rodent on earth. They can climb on grass, that's how light they are.
- Their Latin name also reflects this: It translates into "very small little mouse"
- The Swedish population was found when cats caught them and brought them home to their owners. "Look hooman, a new mouse species, I thought you wanted to see it"

Wow finally someone drawing a little rodent! They are so underrepresented and I can't help but like them a lot.
Thanks to my work, I got quite interested in voles as well; particularly tundra voles. Quite hardcore fascinating little beings with a damn cute face.
Also really nice how you used the colours here to 'break' the green and brown. Very beautiful art, as always!

Ha yeah welcome!
Yeah I didn't know much about voles until my recent research stuff. They are quite a fascinating groups of rodents. Particularly the Microtus genus is currently the mammalian genus with the highest number of living species. And they are still rapidly evolving.
Hehe yeah I can relate to a way-too-long-and-ever-growing-to-do-list....but that keeps an artist going ^^
Will answer on your note soon, I hope - interesting stuff there!

I agree, this is a wonderful work of art.
The detail is amazing.
But even more so is the lack of detail, lack of focus that you created for the background.
It is as if a camera adjusted the depth of focus close to the mouse, and blurred the back.
That is done so so well.
