Description I decided to head up into the hills tonight and came across Allison just relaxing while bedded down in the tall grass. I am always sure it's her (they do all look alike) cuz of that scar between her eyes on the right side of her nose. She as always been cautious of me but somewhat accepting at the same time. I just took a couple of shots and moved on and let her be. :]

Your work is bloody fantastic man!

Subject matter or not. I don't think I could get the shots you take.

I dunno about THAT! But it's not a competition anyway .... at least from my perspective .... it's very very subjective so I don't know how you can even measure it so why bother?!?!?? You have some awesome shots ..... so nanner nanner

No, not a competition. Just somewhere to aim for. If you know what I mean.

If I can get as good as you are, partly at least. Then I'll be happy.
But looking for a Fox to shoot over here, is like looking for a virgin in a Brothel..

And thanks a lot too..

How's you?

nope .... sorry dude .... I mean I appreciate that you think my shots are better but the absolute truth is that they aren't. PERHAPS I have spend more time on PS (if I remember correctly you don't even use it right?) but that doesn't mean I am a better photographer. It just means I have spend more money on software and training videos. The stuff I do is pure technical .... almost ANYONE can learn that stuff. There's no creativity to taking wildlife stuff ... you try to get the settings correct and hope your AF and AE does what it is supposed to do. And hope that the animal just HAPPENS to do something interesting when you are pointing your lens at them. I mean I see some INCREDIBLY creative stuff around with photography and PS skills that are out of this world and at a level I will never even come close to. The ONLY thing I see wrong with your work is that you don't realize how good it is

Hey there..

It's not that I think they are better or worse than mine. It's the skill and patience you have, with what you want to capture. That makes some of your shots unique. We don't need to be creative with nature. The creativity is already there. We just try to capture it. And some people, do it better than others.

And you're right, I don't really use PS. I use some basic layering, like you showed me. But that's all really. Oh and some HDR stuff. Not very good at that either...lol

I know some of my shots are good. But, maybe you're right. We don't see what other people see in our work..

Anyway, how's you? I hope all is OK.

Aww, that is a beautiful shot! Love the blur in the foreground, it draws attention to the middle. You're really like the "Grizzly Addams" of Mule Deer, huh?

She's playin' peek-a-boo with you! I love how you have her surrounded by all the beautiful greenery. And don't say "you got lucky", or "I was just happy to get her standing still", or anything like that. You take beautiful shots of these deer and luck has very little to do with it!

Behrfeet In reply to Emmk1970 [2011-06-09 22:59:38 +0000 UTC]

How I have her surrounded?!??!? LOL .... that's just how I came upon her and I just stopped dead in my tracks and took some pictures right there .... not daring to move in case she spooked. So I am not really just saying it .. it's kind of how it happened. It was quite funny the way she just FROZE ... absolutely motionless .. not a blink ... nothing. I took a few shots and then I started talking to her .... "I CAN see you ya know" I said with a wink in my voice. No response ... absolutely no movement. "Really .. you're right there .... you're not fooling me". No response again. "No really ... I really can see you" and that did it ..... her one ear finally flinched and turned sideways as if to say "really? How can that be???". A few seconds later she casually stood up and decided to calmly walk away since apparently she realized she wasn't fooling anyone .... LOL
