Ya ...... I went for a walk down the road yesterday and they started to follow me for a while .... then on the way back they followed me back into the yard ...... they are getting to be a damn nuisance .... lol. But lots of snow and ice this year so they are having a tough time so I'll put up with it

Yeah, I miss the wildlife, not seeing it now that we live in the city. Lots of rabbits tho. Been cold here too this year. Only chilly now, don't need to plug the car in.

I dunno ..... things are getting weird. My daughter lives in Calgary .... right off of MacLeod trail ... she regularly has deer eating right on her front lawn and sees coyotes in the parks ... in the middle of the day! And they are not all all timid .... just stand there and look at her! If I come across a coyote out here then the second he realizes I'm there all I see is asshole and ankles as he high tails it over the next hill!

On the plus side, I had an interesting experience this morning .... a definite first! When I go out to feed them I have a couple of does that walk up and eat out of the pail and I let them cuz once it's on the ground the fighting over it starts even if I put it in many, many piles. This morning, as three does had their face stuck in the pail, the patriarch walks right up and snuffed my hair! And he's a BIG brute! It was pretty cool. It was this guy [link]

I live not far from the river valley and just off the Henday, and one of my jobs is also next to the river, but I don't see any wildlife. They stay close to the river to get thru the city. There was one day, I was in the Black Creek ravine, first I saw a coyote, that moved on quickly, but not five minutes later a deer was travelling in the same direction.

Ya .... it's really interesting how they are there but don't often see them. I'm not sure if you saw that Nature of Things on the Coywolf or not. But they had tracking collars on some coyotes and still had trouble catching glimpses of them!

I did get a chance to watch that show. I wasn't surprised by the fact that they would feel safe in an area right beside a busy road.

I've noticed that with deer though from all my years of driving truck. They don't even look up if you keep a steady speed ..... but slam on the brakes and suddenly they go from quietly grazing in the ditch to panicking and running out in front of you. I guess it becomes their norm and don't associate traffic with people. And for good reason .... how many people hang out right next to the freeway???
