Description Illumination paint on paper: another medieval italian art influence (frescoes and manuscripts) on this creation. It represente a fight between Gauvain and The Green Knight at the King Arthur's Court [link] . I've made the same illumination on a parchment.

Wow! I've never seen an illumination from modern times this good! It looks like it was painted in the middle ages! This is awesome. I love the gold, that must have been hard to get it so detailed.

Another excellent illumination, it has a slightly out-off-focus quality that makes me think of tapestries.

Thank you very much for your comments ! Medieval illuminators or painters have made some preparatory drawing for tapestries. So it 's posible that my illumination make thinking of it.

Maybe that is the case, but I meant the structure in the picture, it is (to me) as if there are threads running trough it... (but maybe that's just my eyes - none the less it is beautiful)

I've Sir Thomas Malory's Tales of King Arthur and always secretly wanted to try and copy some of the illuminations accompanying the text... well, I won't try now as I won't even be 0.00001% as good as you!

Well executed with nice detail. The gold painting in the sky looks a little thick, but other than that it is pure dynamite.

Thanks ! I think a little so for the gold painting in the sky: I've corrected it in the parchment version.

I think I really fell in love with your art! (ah, and indeed, the medieval artists are godly... but then you are too... just joking je t'adore! )

Though I still think that the Elisa one will always and forever (okay, at least for the moment) be my favourite one. This one is a bit too... grey. Also, despite the title, it took me quite some time to see the green knight's existence (maybe I need glasses? ) Ah well.. I think you should try something with more calligraphy collaborated in it, your calligraphy rocks!

superbe !

Quel temps de travail cette oeuvre représente ? C'est une création originale ou une copie ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Behydezell In reply to J-Master [2006-02-07 15:09:45 +0000 UTC]

Merci ! C'est une création originale composé avec des éléments empruntés à l'art médiéval italien. Ca m'a pris a peu près trois semaines de travail !

J-Master In reply to Behydezell [2006-02-07 15:54:09 +0000 UTC]

A bientot
J-Master / Jean-Marc , intéressé, mais ignare !

Actually, if I'm not too indiscreet, how much time does a picture like this take?
