the focus on this owl is perfect. I'd prefer not to have the distraction of the handler in the background, but it's actually somewhat complimentary, Well done to you.

Yeah, I just about fainted when I saw her. I must have taken twenty photos; luckily, her handler was very patient and accommodating. ^^'

Haha, the thought of you almost fainting is rather amusing. I'm glad her handler was so patient. Did the owl get a lot of photos taken of her, or was it just you? Ever thought of having an owl accompany any of your OS-tans?

One of my friend's OS-tans, an Acorn-tan (I forget which model), has an owl as a pet; as for my own designs, Unix-sama's anthropomorphism/totem is supposed to be an owl. Hence her glaring, intelligent eyes and horned owl ears (and occasional wings). ^^'

Ha, ha, I see. I guess it was a good thing that there weren't too many other photographers there. I don't think birds would be too fond of staring at dangerously bright camera flashes all the time. She probably wouldn't understand what was happening and might have gotten agitated an a little frightened. Did you ever find out what her name was?
Aha, so that's what inspired Unix-sama. She's an owl girl. I knew that there was *something* up with her character design, because I've seen the "owl ears" and her different eyes, but I didn't quite know what it was and didn't really have any guesses. It's also cute that your friend's Acorn-tan has an owl as a pet, but Acorn isn't ringing too much of a bell for me right now.
I know that there was something to do with computers called Acorn or maybe ACORN, but I can't remember anything about it. >_<;

I love great horned owls, they're the coolest. Wish I could see one...I hear one once in a while in mid-winter. Or a barred owl. Owls are rare here in general now. A pity. This is a great shot...the bird looks focused, like it's glaring at someone

I've only seen one owl in the wild, unfortunately; all the others have been in captivity. I don't see many birds of prey in general around my area, maybe I just haven't been looking hard enough. Hope you have better luck in spotting some, though!

Me too! Owls are one of my favourite birds, and this fellow was especially beautiful. (Although... IIRC... this may have been a female.)
