We went to Japan for our Honeymoon, and we were in Kyoto to see the Gion Odori that happens every year. It was so cool. I always wanted to go.People don't speak as much English as everyone says they do, but everyone is remarkably polite. They have to be otherwise there'd be fights breaking out on the trains, there are so many.

I love how you can see the differences between each Geiko's stance, how Tsuneyuu's turned in more and Masami's bending her knees more than the others. Even though they are dancing the same steps, they each have their own take on it. It's a great shot.

How did you manage to find out so much about all the Maiko and Geiko and get such great pictures? I was so intimidated. Depending on when you went, we could've even seen the same performance X-D

I've picked up information on Maiko and Geiko along the way, reading books and searching online. The best places to go online would be the Immortal Geisha Forums, [link] , and Tsuruko Maiko, [link] . Good books would be Liza Dalby's and Lesley Downer's books.
You should defintely load more pics. It's hard to find good pictures, so I'm always scouring the internet. It would be great to have more here. If you have video, I'd love to see it, too. The performances were amazing.

Maybe. The wedding is a little personal and I generally avoid posting pictures of myself places. We'll see if I can find a few to post without doing that though.
