This is an old woman I met in a street of Venice, Italy. She was
walking alone and looking very sad. I hope that person feels
better now (I took the photo and also made the quick drawing).

But you've said somewhere that some of the photos are firstly take and then you do sketch over big print of background photo. Isn't it one of them?

This is a great idea !!! my interpretation is that deep deep inside she knows how much she misses the person, but she just won't show/admit it on the outside (even though she looks sad...)

This is amazing-it appears as though she is getting younger in each picture/drawing. Such an amazing representation of passing time.

I think it looks that way because he couldn't draw the facial details (wrinkles, ec.) prominently as the drawing got smaller. But nice interpretation :3

Today I drove the mother of my sister in law to a nursing home. She wanted to visit her husband who has had two serious surgeries in two weeks, battled pneumonia, and now he is facing amputation of both legs. The sadness of this woman's face reminded me of how sad she was because she knows her husband is going to die.

I really like all of these 'pensil vs camera' works. This one's great too, it's kinda funny, but sad at the same time. Like the lighting in the photo and the idea of the drawing
