The new cover is finished and took A LOT longer than the old one.
Old one: 3 hours
New one: 9 hours

I spend a ton of time on this and I AM HAPPY with it.

Now let me explain the symbolism in this cover.

The top area, with Jena, Walker, and the Rats represents The prologue - chapter 5. And btw, starting in chapter 4 Jena actually looks like how she does on this page. That is the result of the rat attack.
She will look like that the rest of Issue 1 and half of issue 2 then she will look normal again. We also have the glowy eye rats in the trees forming the Kuro Akai Yoru symbol.

Um the bottom half, the reason this is in a forest is because part of this story takes place in that forest. I can't say much about it or why it is there but we will learn about it soon.

Also we have the six cats who will go on a mission in this book.
I put the MAIN characters of the cats (Darkstripe, Tiny, & Starbuck) on the tree stump highlighted to show they are more important.

On Tiny's side, is Birchy and Rivka. They are cousins, and Rivka is a good friend to Tiny and Darkstripe while Birchy is Tiny's mentor.

On Starbuck's Side is Azure his friend who he shares a sad past with that will be told in Chapter 8.

But trust me this cover is EXTREMELY symbolistic of the Entire Issue 1 of Detective Cats.

BEFORE ANYONE ASKS WHY ICE/BLACK IS NOT ON THE COVER LET ME ANSWER IT HERE.
You see, there are hints in this book that Ice will be important someday but he won't really start to be a big time main character until the second half of Issue 2, then he slowly becomes extremely important.

I also want to thank *Monarchstar-SCCS for teaching me a new and better crying techique. Yes, Jena actually is crying. I can't say why yet. We will know at the end of chapter 4.

Also even though I tried, ~PshNya tought me how to do mist. I tried and liked it, but the problem is it took away highlights from the characters and was a bit overwhelming.
