Julie Hart was always considered a rather cold girl. Not in the sense that she was quite and distant, but rather in the sense that she never seemed to care for anyone. In fact what seemed to bring her the most joy was causing the other kids on the playground as much pain as she could. She still chuckles at the memory of breaking on girl's leg for skipping her in line for the slide.

Her violent tendencies became even more pronounced when she was 12 and her Neo-Gene powers to create and control ice kicked in. The first thing she did was to freeze her parents in place when they told her to go to her room. After that she struck out on her own to do whatever she wanted to whoever she wanted.

Along her travels she met up with a similiar minded girl named Karen Danvers who like her liked to cause pain for her own selfish gains and was also a Neo-Human but her power to was to create and control fire.

Despite, or perhaps because of, their indifference to everyone else, the girls became fast friends and soon turned into the villain duo of Coldsnap and Pyra. Instead of going to boring high school they decided just to take what they needed or wanted and live by their own rules as they always had on their own.

When they found their way to L.A., however, their villains acts put them right in the sites of Spiderette and the three quickly engaged in battle that saw Spiderette barely escape the two element weilders. Deciding it was the best fun in while, the duo settled down in L.A. to torment the teen hero as much as they could while still living the highlife in the surf, sun, and stars.
