Background:

Song was born on Serseri to a single carefree mother who often handed him off to his uncle on Nomie. He was practically raised by his uncle for a few years along with his older cousin, Lyric, until his mother wanted to move to the mainland with him. He was a much more typical baby than Lyric was and was often compared by his mother to his much more silent cousin whenever he would make a fuss and upset his selfish mother. Song grew resentful of Lyric for being the “perfect” child, someone his mother constantly told him to be like.

He was neglected by his mother often, locked in the apartment with only a few things to do in his home. He watched any TV he wanted, often exposed to more mature shows and taught himself to read a little. His talent with animals was what kept him sane in the house as he would play with birds or squirrels through his window.

When Song was 5, he was handed back to his uncle while his mother took long trips to “find her calling”. He avoided Lyric as much as he could and tried everything to get her in trouble but nothing he did made her angry or troubled. It took awhile for Song to grow to like his cousin but while he looked for her flaws to exploit, he just found her goofy and fun to tease. Song eventually liked to hang around Lyric while she trained for her goal as a police officer, being her jogging buddy whenever his uncle was busy with chores.

When Song was 9, he volunteered to help an old couple run their tiny little farm on Anura. He was very good with their animals and felt content where he was.

After a few years, his mother returned and fought with his uncle for Song to return with her to the mainland. Song didn't have the courage to tell his mother no and ended up being taken away. He kept in touch with his family on Nomie and his penpal, Lian, until he had enough of his mother and ran away back to the islands.

Unfortunately, the elderly couple he lived with passed away but he was left at least their farm house in their will. He lives by himself on Anura, afraid his mother will come to look for him on Nomie if he went to stay with his cousin or uncle.

Has a very strange affinity with animals, particularly rodents.
Is a very calm child but finds himself causing trouble because of boredom.
Is inhumanly strong for a 12 year old (because of his uncle’s father-in-law and aunt)
He found Ribbon, his red squirrel, when he was little when she had fallen from her nest after a storm. Nursed her back to health himself.
