Description So my friends started a new DnD campaign, AND I GOT TO MAKE MY CHARACTER BE COLE!

It's in a world invented by the Dungeon Master, which doesn't have dragons in it. So sadly, I don't get to have Cole start scared of dragons. I'm gonna have him scared ah de sneks instead.

The symbol scratched into his scythe blade is the symbol of Teirrn, goddess of earth. (Teirrn was invented by the Dungeon Master)

Commissions of any kind open at all times! (And requests if I like them)

Man, what's the point of Dungeon and Dragons if there aren't any dragons!?

Develop random characters and roll a lot of dice, so far XD

Nice! Is that a scythe or some other weapon? Scythes have nice crit multipliers. It's so much fun to take existing characters into D&D, I'm glad you're getting a chance to play! Which edition are you playing, and what are Cole's stats?

5th Edition. We couldn't find a scythe actually, so we just took the mechanics of a different two-handed slashing weapon that has a wooden haft, I forget which one. It's 1d10 damage.

Cole Bucket level 3
Race: Human    Class: Fighter, battlemaster   Alignment: Neutral Good

Strength: 16
Dexterity: 14
Constitution: 14
Intelligence: 12
Wisdom: 14
Charisma: 10

Battlemaster means I can have him do extra moves like pushing enemies away and disarming them. That's really good because the rest of the team is a bunch of glass canons and Cole's the only tank while we have no cleric. Cole will basically charge around constantly saving the rest of the team from getting killed by barrelling into enemies like a locomotive. XD

No Scythe? Well, if your DM can improvise well enough to give you a similar weapon, you're in good hands.

Neutral Good is my favorite character alignment

Nice stats, did you roll 'em or use a point-buy system?

I'm not familiar with the Battlemaster... OK, I've read up on the Battlemaster! Fun idea, I like the various effects you can use! Seems like tripping and riposte are very powerful, and most of the damage-adding options are good too. Precision attack can even turn a miss into a hit!

I hope you'll have fun with him, this seems like it could really be awesome!

No, he has his scythe! It just has the stats/specs/whatever of a halberd or something. We made that other weapon into a scythe. We're not following the rules super strict, this campaign is more about playing with character development than doing the game mechanics.

We did point-buy. I couldn't figure out what to do for my character, until everyone else had decided theirs and we were in BAD need of a good tank. The ninja of Earth is not only a great tank theme, but super fun to roleplay! Cole got Wisdom of 14 because we didn't have enough people with a high wisdom stat elsewhere. It's funny because in Ninjago Battle School, I gave him lower wisdom and higher cunning, sort of the reverse!

It's already been awesome-I had him use Goad on a bandit, and unable to think of anything else, I had him attack yelling: "Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelled of elder berries!" Then the bandit hit him back and did exactly 1 damage! XD So Cole added "Is that all you got, Hamster Boy?!" I'm seriously having too much fun with this in the best way!

Scythes are awesome! I like it when a DM lets you play around with the rules

Point buy works well for keeping the characters consistent, but I like rolling the dice for the randomness it involves. It is cool that you were able to address the deficiencies in the other character's builds. Wisdom is a great stat, if the DM knows how to use it.

Ah, Monty Python... the fathers of all really fun roleplaying!

I know, oh well. It's super fun anyway though because we have the craziest selection of teammates. I'm gonna try and post some writing about the actual gameplay...I just need to ask my friends if they're ok with me telling the story. I can ask them tomorrow
