I worshiped the woman during most of my childhood. Listened to "The Immaculate Collection" while sketching because you can't go wrong with vintage MadonnaTools: graphite, cheap construction paper & colored pencils.

She sounds really, really young and girlie on those songs, and I don't typically like high-pitched voices.

True that. They're catchy, though. Material Girl is the worst offender with the girlie voice. She's weird... she started out singing nasally & girlie; then her voice sounded mature and kind of throaty (which I liked), and now she sounds... I dunno... shitty. LOL. I can't describe it, but it's like she forgot how to sing again.
I can't remember what Nothing Fails sounds like, but I was disgusted the one and only time I listened to the whole album.

OMFG, Material Girl... I'd blocked that song from my memory. She was nasal, uber-girlie, and her voice rattled like she was trying to (poorly) imitate Stevie Nicks. Aieee... Now most of her stuff is crap, but the few good songs are really, really good.
