When the Witch's hens get broody they'll sit on anything! Even naughty little black interlopers. The interloper grows up eventually, never forgetting the kindness of those snuggly ladies!Happy Early birthday, Miss *tir-ri ! But don't count your chickens before they hatch. Har har har.

This is one of my favorite things I've seen that you've done. The colors (especially around the head/face) and details on the feathers gorgeous. Also, it makes me want to go to sleep. It makes me feel the same way I did while watching My Neighbor Totoro when Mei fell asleep on Totoro's stomach.

There's a certain charm to this. Never thought I acually would find a hen cosy-looking. This one I can almost see as a woman, with a lot of body and a motherly apple-face. Really awesome.

Ahhh, that's so neat! I really was thinking of re-drawing her as a woman oddly enough. I had some chickens when I was growing up and they were so packed with plucky personality that I couldn't help but imagine what they would be like as people.

I actually just had to go out and help my boyfriend herd in one who got loose and normally will let us pet her, but since she was out she would let us get to just within reach and scurried off. Those teeny fine lines around the feathers are such a perfect touch. They really give her a fluffy volume. The other bird looks annoyed too but the hen is all "Take it bitch, take my warm, hefty love"
