Description As you may know, I play as Ronno on the Disney World of War Forum RPG, and I noticed some of the other players have signature images along the bottom of each their posts per character. So here's mine.

I want to focus on Ronno's character as a whole, not just "oh, he's that boastful bully that tries to steal Faline and is mean to Bambi". Like I said in my "Ronno Adult Edited" picture, Ronno is your average kid who grows up without a father, desperate for attention, going about it all the wrong way, with a huge ego and a jealousy tendency to match. He's also slightly cowardly (though that seems to fade when he grows up) and trying to hide it, temperamental, and whiny. But he wants friends. He wants people to like him, especially Faline. He seems impressed by the Great Prince in the second movie too, showing how he might want a father figure, and giving him another reason to be jealous of Bambi.

That's where the quote in this image comes from, the second movie, where Fawn Ronno is prancing around Fawn Faline, going on and on about himself, trying to impress her. "See, that's the great thing about me...I don't feel any pain!" And then, if you remember, he runs into a tree to prove it. Faline responds by rolling her eyes before she is distracted from Ronno by a scream from Bambi, who had just been stuck by a porcupine.

The picture of Ronno on the far right is an edited screenshot of him from the first movie in the scene where he begins forcing adult Faline away from Bambi with his antlers. The one all the way on the left is an edited screenshot of Fawn Ronno's upset face after Faline dashes away from him to see Bambi in above mentioned scene. The one behind that image is Bambi and Faline kissing for the first time by accident in the second movie, just after Bambi loses his spots and gets his antlers.

I thought about putting a similarly faded screenshot behind the adult Ronno picture on the far right, one of adult Bambi and Faline (Maybe of her giving him a kiss ln the cheek while his antlers are stuck in the cherry blossom tree, or when she's standing at his side as he looks down the cliff at the defeated Ronno) to show that he's still heart-achey over their relationship, but in the end I decided that would make it too crowded and draw attention away from the Adult Ronno's expression.

That is so cool that you role play as Ronno. I think Ronno is an awesome character in Bambi 2. And, I read your theory on Ronno. And, I would have to agree. This is why I wish Disney would've given us a little backstory on Ronno's past. Cause, I don't believe Ronno was born mean. I believe something happened to him to make him like that. And, I'm definitely one of his fans that wishes he would've had a face turn in the end.

Well, thank you so very much! I would have loved to see more Ronno in Bambi II, as well, and it's cool to hear from someone who agrees. Do you role-play?

You wanna know something that bothered me about it? How they completely ignored him in the Making Of Featurette completely ignoring him and Anthony Ghannam who was amazing as Ronno. And, the funny thing if you are of friend of Anthony's on facebook. He is probably the nicest guy in the world. And, I don't RP sadly. The closest I come to role playing. Is being myself trying to have make believe conversations with the characters. Btw, if you would like to talk with me more privately you can follow me on twitter which is @Double0Sal2. You can friend me on facebook www.facebook.com/Nascarwwefan. And, I also have a Skype as well which is Justin.Salinari29. I would like to chat with you more and maybe become friends?

I know, right? I would have loved to see more of Anthony Ghannam's thoughts on playing Ronno, too. I make believe conversations with the characters all the time, too.

Sorry, but I can't talk any more privately than a PM here on deviantart. My parents are pretty strict about not Skyping people you don't know in real life, and the same goes for Facebook, too. Sorry! But we can talk some more via message, if you want.

I like the picture on the far-right the most (when he's grown-up). To be honest, it doesn't look much like he's glaring at Faline here. He looks more hurt than angry to me. When I first looked at the picture (before reading the description) I thought he was looking sorrowfully at the ground. His brow looks wrinkled upwards and his eyes look large and wet. It looks perfect with the ironic but fitting caption "I don't feel any pain".

I'm of the opinion that Ronno genuinely likes Bambi and Faline and wants to impress them, and that the way he acts is the way he thinks they want him to be.

Anyway, I really like your inerpretation of Ronno and I think you deserve the part. Are you going to make him a villain or an anti-villain?

Well, of course, I have to make him start out villainous, but I really am steering him in the direction of anti-villain. Right now he's bitter and angry with all of the animal "citizens" of the Great Forest, including Bambi and Faline, but once I get him thinking about Faline and whether he wants to change or not, anti-villain won't be far behind.

I totally agree with your synopsis of Ronno. Although I'm not sure whether he's acting the way he thinks they want him to be. I think it's more like he's acting the way he wants to be, and he thinks what he wants to be will impress them.

And yeah, I'm glad you read his expression so perfectly! Right now Faline's player and I are planning that she and Ronno will meet up, and I'm hoping for some really endearing dialogue between them. We kind of got to see a glimpse of Bambi and Ronno's reaction to each other when they grew up in the first movie, but the only thing we got to see between Faline and Ronno was him trying to force her to go with him before Bambi charged him. I'm thinking about ad-libbing a falling out between Ronno and Faline when they were pre-teens,where he's still trying to impress her and basically bugging her, and she's finally so sick of it that she tells him to leave her alone and he asks her what's so special about Bambi. I think Ronno's hugely jealous of Bambi; he has the coolest father in the woods, he's going to inherit basically becoming the leader of the forest, and everyone knows him and loves him and shows him respect even as a kid. Plus he has Faline. Maybe at first Ronno would've been friends with Bambi, but now he's convinced himself that Bambi only gets everything that Ronno wants because he's the "Young Prince", not because he deserves it. Ronno just can't bring himself to think that Bambi is better than him in any way, even though maybe deep down he knows Bambi is kind and he's not.

Maybe you should join DWoW; you seem like my kinda friend!

So what do you believe will happen to him in the end? Will this change of path from villain to anti-villain be a very big change for him? Will he ever become an anti-hero? Is there even a chance that he will discover that he has a good side too (for example, compassion, bravery, kindness, sense of responsibility)?

Now that I think of it your synopsis makes more sense. He was trying to be the deer he wanted to be (or rather, the deer he thought he wanted to be). And he says and does things that he thinks will help him make friends, not knowing that he's actually having the opposite effect. Acting like that can get him followers or allies, but not friends. And the kind of people he really wants around him are the kind whom he pushes away.

I like the thought of that. If he can end the part of the feud with Faline, that's a start. I hope he can talk to her sensibly and honestly. And I hope he goes to her with an open mind and takes heed of what she says. If he's willing to talk honestly and listen it could be a major turning point for him. Maybe in time, he can even sort things out with Bambi.

Here's another thing I'd like your opinion on. In Bambi 2, Ronno gives Bambi a hard time about many things. But have you noticed that he never, ever mentions Bambi's mother? Maybe that's a sign that he isn't as cruel as he seems to be. What's your take on that?

Oh, and about the DWOW thing, I'll have to think about it. I've never seen anything like that before and it looks a little hard to navigate. In a nutshell, what is it all about?

Oh, wow, DWoW. It's been around for about...I dunno, four, five, maybe four-and-a-half years? And it was REALLY active. Like, ridiculously active. And it's a forum, I don't know how familiar you are with those (I'm a total beginner to them), but because of how active it was, new threads were posted all the time, and replied to, so there's SO MUCH to read if you want to read all that's happened with every Disney character in the War.

Here's the plot line: it starts in the Lion King movie, and Sarabi, Simba's mother, guesses that Scar was behind her husband's death when he returns from the Gorge with news of Mufasa and "Simba's demise". So she learns of her son being alive, and, seeing how bad a king Scar is and wanting to save the Pridelands from him, thereby putting her son in his rightful place on the throne, she goes and sends out a plea for help to all of the heroes of the Magic Kingdom, the first few being Aladdin and the Great Prince and Stitch and Angel from Lady and the Tramp II. They trained young Simba until they were ready to take back the Pridelands. They effectively beat Scar, and banished him to the Outlands, but the dark lion didn't give up and called for his own army of the villains from the far reaches of the Magic Kingdom. They came, but after a power struggle between Jafar and Scar, who were both wanting to be leaders of the Villain army, the Human Villains split from the Animal Villains and became their own force in the war. So now it's a three-way war between the HVs (Human Villains), AVs (Animal Villains), and the Heroes. The hero army has grown considerably, since it's both animals and villains, but the Human Villain army is dwindling, and Nuka, Scar's son, left his ftaher's army after a falling out and took much of the Animal Villains with him, creating his own army.

So that's the plot. The problem is that it's so big that it's overwhelming, especially if you pick up a character that people have played before you. And frankly, the players who have been there and stuck with the RP from the beginning are kind of intimidating and very strict (which isn't always a bad thing) and very serious about it...and almost clique-ey. New players are like outsiders, at least that's my experience.

But it's so well done that I couldn't keep away. I think you'd be good at it, if you had the time to try and tackle the history of it.

About Ronno: Yes. Just yes. I want to do exactly what you say; I want him to become good, but slowly, with much confusion and indecisiveness on his part. Faline will be sort of the doorway into his reconciliation with Bambi and turning good. He really likes her, and he really wants her to like him back. And he knows it, but he still doesn't try to suppress it because it's "soft" or "weak". It'll be because of her that he begins to rethink himself and his life and his motives, and whether or not he has a good side. I did notice how he didn't mention Bambi's mom. I actually read someone's fanfic where Ronno taunted Bambi for not having a mother, and Bambi taunted right ack that Ronno didn't have a father. And I would think that Ronno isn't that nasty, but you have to remember, he did taunt Bambi about his dad not wanting him. Then again, that could just be because he's incredibly jealous of Bambi's father.
Sorry, that was long. XP
