An homage to my favorite artist ever, Alphonse Mucha, and my favorite art style, art noveau.[link]
I've been wanting to try something in art noveau style for a long time, but I never really had the patience to do it before.
Anyway, my New York [link] in a style that I think fits her quite well.
"Excelsior" is New York's motto, which means "ever higher." It's probably my favorite state motto ever because it's simple and short, yet gets the state's values across perfectly. And it's just a beautiful word.
I can still hardly believe that I did this. I just keep looking at it like, "OMG that could actually pass for good." I know there's still lots of mistakes, but I really like it.

I, too, am a sucker for art nouveau. I think you nailed the style, and I love the choice of colors and textures. It has just the right softness, with just the right clarity of lines.
I also like how you have the Brooklyn Bridge and Empire State Building ever so subtly in the background.

Yay, you noticed the background. And lol, the Empire State Building is so anachronistic for 1901, but whatever. Titles are meaningless. Meaningless, I say.
