So I was browsing some old picture folders on my computer and I stumbled across this. It's a screenshot of my old avatar from the now defunct Pirates of the Caribbean Online. Good ol' John Redbeard, scourge of the Caribbean. POTCO was probably my first ever foray into an actual MMO. I was a part of a clan (I think they were called guilds back then), the Savage Vengeance. Good bunch. POTCO was shut down in 2013 by Disney. I didn't have a backstory for Redbeard, I wasn't as creative back then. Anyway, just thought I'd share.Related content

I'm honestly not surprised they shut it down. I agree, it was a good family friendly MMO but the game just got old. It didn't have the following that other MMOs like World of Warcraft got and eventually the entire franchise just kinda tapered off after the original POTC trilogy was finished. I only played for a few months and then got bored and stopped playing. I had preferred access. I even have the old flag they gave everyone who paid the subscription. In fact it's hanging over my desk.
