Description
DR LIGHTBREAKER:Price Prism is a theoretical physicist and astronaut who was stationed aboard the Damocles space station. While studying a crystal discovered on a passing comet the Damocles is set upon by an invading alien force. During the attack Price comes into contact with the crystalline substance which suddenly starts to invade and consume his body, leaving only his brain intact but enshrouded by the crystal. Price finds that the crystal is somehow sustaining his life while also granting him power over all the wavelengths of the light spectrum.
A humanoid robotic body has been built for Price his crystalline form is integrated into to both maximize the use of his new abilities and to give him a more relatable form. Analysis indicates that the Dr is in danger of losing touch with his humanity if he doesnt maintain at least some semblance of a human existence via the suit.

This is an exceptionally heroic character!
His origin is the stuff villains are made of like Doctor Doom or DC's the Brain.
But this guy turns his tragedy into heroics.
That's not unheard of in comics, but it's pretty rare.
Only Man-Thing and Thing come to mind,
but in each case it provides built in character.
If you can turn those lemons into lemonade your making Hero-aide!

Thanks for the kind words. One of the biggest issues for me is to make good characters, I try to give each of them some sort of depth. I dont necessarily want even my potentially lamest character to be merely one dimensional. And trust me, Ive got some purposeful lamers coming down the pipe. I've got one loser called the Chuggernaut, who gains power from being drunk, the drunker the more powerful but he suffers all the effects of being inebriated. So its kinda a bad powerset to have. He's intended to fill that horrible villain role of losers like the Kite or Walrus and yet I still plan to make him a genuine character in the end.
