Good catch! It really depends on what aspect of the myth you use as reference. Medusa is one of the three Gorgon sisters, each of which have wings. Personally, I liked the wings. They're not often used in the more common imagery of the character. But, as I mentioned above, the myth changed so much through the years, it really depends on what period you want to explore.
