Personal submission to the 2009 Pandora Poster Contest.

It took a while to really depict visually what music was to me. I realized it's not exact, it's hard or me to think of it as a single object or a realistic thing. Taking numerous shapes, lines, textures--it resulted in my interpretation of what music is. Adding a text box to the bottom to elaborate, writing what music is was even more difficult.

The imagery is abstract, organic, moving--alive. With the abstract nature, it's more intuitive to the poster holder or viewer, so this related to the text box with "Music is..." When printed, the poster will not have the text at the bottom, just dotted lines so that each poster holder can write their own text of "what music is." It allows it to be interactive and something that the poster holder contributed to, thus being something they not only want to post up, but also own.
