Description Album cover for Sleepthief's debut album, The Dawnseeker.

You can see the interior work on my website.

This is an absolutely must-hear album. Some call it aural bliss, some call it sonic wallpaper, you must hear it to decide. If you like downtempo electronica featuring some of the most beautiful female vocals in the electronica genre, check it out. Jody Quine (Balligomingo), Nicola Hitchcock (Mandalay), Kirsty Hawkshaw (Opus III, Tiesto), and Kristy Thirsk (Delerium), are just 4 of the 11 vocalists featured on this album.

I love the way this cover seems to represent the music .... I love the textures, the way dark meets light, the atmospheric feel .. it portrays Sleepthiefs music perfectly and i think thats what a great cd cover should be achieving. This achieves that easily...

It looks just as gorgeous flipped over, so that the reflection is at the top. Wonderful light!

Oh, did you see the first version of the cover I did? Ugly stuff. I am so glad I ended up doing this revision.

It was great, although I did that specific project for free, because I couldn't ask Justin for money at the time, I had a lot of free room to do what I wanted.

But also, Just in recognized what very few people, specifically clients, recognize for designers they hire: they're designers. Not a tool. He told me what he envisioned, keeping that in mind while I listened to the wonderful music, I made the entire CD.

I have another client that kind of told me what to do, which makes it turn out differently. For the better? I don't know.

But the reason why I love designing album packaging is because of this, I listen to amazing music, and I can design accordingly. Not to mention, Justin has some badass photography!

Sorry, I'm very verbose today.

Justin has some amazing photography thats for sure, but because you were just able to let the music speak to you, so to speak, its all turned out incredible, suits the music so much. congrats, and thanks for all the info Which is your favourite song?

It would be either You Did A Good Thing or Entre Ciel Et Mer.

It's funny because Justin sent me Entre Ciel Et Mer first, because Nicola was having a hard time and getting lyrics done was taking her a while. So when I heard You Did A Good Thing, I initially didn't like it. Now it's a favorite.

I know a lot of people hate her voice, but I personally love it.

What's yours?

Hate her voice? whats to hate? Its so beautiful.

I still can't figure out emoticons properly. I think I just won't bother to use them...

hehe xDD
it's not too hard, but I understand getting confused by them. Darn you emoticons!

just put colons around the emot you want, like
: hug : but without spaces.

BTW, I went and saw the complete package design for this, and I am without words. It really blew me away, it's just so perfect and professional. I love it! I have to hear the music now, I know I will love it...

Yay! Haha.

I'm glad you like it, you should see the first cover I did. The official is a major revision of it...

Do you like Balligomingo?

Ohh now thats cool! Love the texture you overlayed across the sky. I would have preferred a darker setting to the bottom I know you gotta reflect the sky in the water but makes me have to look at the picture a second time to make out what and where its set. Minor detail and personal choice I suppose

Now that I look at it, I didn't realize I made them the same brightness! Ahhh! Haha, oh well. I never noticed that. There's like minor errors in my designs for that album as well, but then again, ONLY I know those.

Thanks!
