I dunno, I always felt as if a human version of Russel would only have his irises turned white or a cloudy anterior chamber with a bit glow.
But it's also nice to have him look at something without having to turn his entire head lol.

DEFINETLY looks like him in real life form! If a Gorillaz movie ever came out and if there was a scene or two with the characters in real life, I'd be expecting Russel to look like what you made.

Awesome! 
Always a challenge to draw these portraits that must also fit the personality and voice, and not just randomly picked human references and smack the signature blue hair or green skin on it. Some face shapes or bone structures imo just don't fit every cartoon, like 2D and Noodle seem to have rounder softer features while Murdoc has strong features.
So it seems that I have succeeded with fellow fans
