Description As promised, here is what I would like to see from a Legendary redesign for Anguirus. I've seen many iterations of an Anguirus redesign, including one by Legendary themselves that shows up in The Art of Destruction accompany book (if you can call that thing Anguirus). It sort of looked like him, but it has 6 limbs and many of the details are muddled. I've seen fan-made versions as well of all different kinds. I've seen a  lot of people show him as a crocodile, but I just don't imagine Anguirus in such a way. To me, he's an ankylosaurid, and I drew him as so. Now, yes, I might have added some features that might remind people of a ceratopsian, but they're both beaks, spiky, herbivorous dinosaurs, so they often share features just as a given. I actually took a lot of inspiration from Matt Frank's Godzilla Neo redesign because, unlike with the King Ghidorah redesign, which I found pretty easy, I just couldn't get Anguirus to look right. To me, he's a herbivorous Kaiju, and so I drew him as so, but I couldn't get that to fit with his design without a little reference. Hope I didn't completely rip him off. I tried to make it unique as much as possible but hey, you can't beat Matt's design! He's the best!

And, as with LegendaryGhido, ol' Angi's gonna's get a bio, too!

Anguirus
Height: 97 meters
Weight: 90, 500 tons
Length: 173 meters

Biography:
Anguirus is a new, recently-discovered prehistoric Daikaiju. Coexisting with titans like Godzilla himself, and the MUTOs, as well as scavengers and opportunists like the Shinomura, this beast lived in a world full of danger. However, unlike the King of Monsters, who evolved to become the biggest and most powerful of his competitors to outdo his foes, Anguirus took a much different approach. Anguirus' size is nothing special, but he's extremely dense and his body an armored tank almost impenetrable to all. Though Anguirus does use radiation as a food source, he has moved away from ingesting it directly or taking it from the rich bodies of deceased Daikaiju. Anguirus has learned to take such sustenance from a herbivorous standpoint, clearing dozens of square miles of forest to obtained his required nutrients. This vast amount of nourishment needed to fuel just a single Anguirus keeps their population limited and in check, which meant that competition was fierce. Territorial battles were most likely extremely violent and often fatal. Though they were vegetarians, Anguirus was no one to mess with. Armored from head to toe and well-versed in the art of using his defenses as serious weapons, Anguirus could use any part of his body to offensively maim and opponent. Even his skull was a vicious weapon. His beak is sharpened to a point on both the upper and lower jaws, as well as having the edges sharp and blade-like. The action of chewing actually helped sharpen its beak, which made it prime for battle whenever it needed to be, especially since Anguirus spent most of it's time feeding. At the base of beak on the upper jaw are two small spikes. These act like canines for shearing opponents if they get too close. Two small groves in the lower portion of the beak fit these spikes perfectly, as well as keeping them sharp with the friction they create when the mouth opens and closes. The teeth themselves are fused and molar-like, very similarly to elephants of today. Cheek pouches shorten the range of the snout, but also make it easy to keep food in the mouth whilst chewing. The top of the beak is also adorned with a large horn, which will be use to gore opponents that get too close. The eyes are protected buy a thick, armored eye ridge which extended into massive foreword-curving horns that act as a frill to protect the neck. One sprints from behind each eye and four more, slightly smaller ones extend from the back of the skull. If swung violently, these spikes can make the skull it self a dangerous weapon, especially since the cranium is fused and can take the force of a full-frontal battering. Even the cheeks sport their own spines, whack are thick and backwards-facing. The back of Anguirus is pretty much impossible to strike at. Completely covered in massive, thick and well-ankored spikes, even the mighty Godzilla would think twice about striking there. Even his pillar-like limbs are covered with these spikes as well as the armor plating that they're attached to. However, if Anguirus were simply stationary, many resourceful predators would find a way to get past such defenses, so Anguirus has adapted a mobile and powerful offensive tool-his tail. Covered from side to side with long, blade-like spikes, getting struck with this thing is like walking into a chainsaw. However, that's not the worst part. At the base of this hellish tail is a thick ball of fuzed bone which acts as a club. With even large, spike-like protrusions extended from almost every corner of this club, a strike from this end is guaranteed to shatter bone and cause serious external AND internal bleeding. Even Godzilla kept his distance this deadly weapon. The base of the tail (the portion that connects to the club) is also fused and very muscular, making it stiff, so when swung, it can reach supersonic speeds several times over, making its impact potential fatal at best. However, Anguirus is usually a docile creature, wanting to mostly be left to its now devices. Only when predators or potential rivals threaten its existence does Anguirus become violent. Though he is usually docile, when irritated or startled, Anguirus will not waver his assault until either he or the aggressor stands dead, dying or in full retreat. His will and determination is unrivaled, which can be a good and bad thing. It makes him strong, very strong, but it also means he never knows when to quite, which can be a problem when contending with opponents that are far more powerful than him.

Thanks! I tried to take from roots, but also redesign him to make him more... what is the word... accurate, per say.

Thanks! I was wondering if you'd be a little skeptical because of all the talk about making him really look ancient, but I think this design really fits him!

It looks very ankylosaurian and I like the front legs, the elongated claws along the stubby ones is a nice touch like some real dinosaurs.

Mostly sauropods have those, but I thought it would be a useful tool for an every-constantly battling Anguirus! This thing really is a living tank!

Exactly! But yet a very good take! I like the beak though, looks like it could snap off a few kaiju fingers with ease.

Very possibly so! An average Triceratops could snap a foot-thick branch in two with no trouble at all. Now multiply that by Anguirus and tell me what comes to mind.

Kaiju fans often share much in common, at least from my experience.
