With a grin like that I'd say this is the Chesire Cat of manticores, so a Chesire Manticore. It looks terrifying in the best way possible.

This is really great. Good job on the expression.

This piece is a combination of several techniques.The head was a practical sculpt I did in WED clay,cast in silicone and painted as part of a SFX course I was doing.It was designed to be like a "game trophy mount",like you get with taxidermy deer and the like. It is about 1.5 feet x 2 feet in size and was lit and photographed at Neill Gorton Prosthetic Studio.It was then composited into a body and background I created in photoshop several months later as I thought it would be nice to get an overall idea of the body,nature and habitat of the beast..
I think it kinda came together quite nicely..

Thanks Dave!! I was going to e-mail you the pic,but I guess you've seen it now!The trouble with doing a trophy head,is that as an outsider,you have no idea what the body is meant to look like,which is why I did this as a completely anal completionist.
I will post a breakdown of the process now,as when I posted this,it was a bit late..
