Description
This cake is going to be the death of me.
This is potentially for Link's Blacklist Project over on . That is if nothing else goes wrong and if the finished product remotely resembles a Furnix. If not then I may stab myself with the cake.

......I can't figure out how it's possible for that cake not to collapse on itself. But the fact that it hasn't proves how amazing you are.

Thanks. xD There's a wire support running through the fondant topper. It's my first time using wire - I usually don't include an inedible components, but given that it's not for anyone to eat I made an exception.

Didn't you use wires in the Scrapper cake you made a while ago, but then take them out because they couldn't support the weight of his hands? [link]

Yes, that is true! I guess I didn't count that as using wire as it never made it into the final cake.

it's mainly the fondant topper. xD can't see much of the cake in the photo.

Ahhh. Yeah, it's just crumb coated with buttercream and wrapped with plastic wrap at the moment. Am putting the fondant on there last as it's likely to be damaged as I work on the bird.

It's made mostly from fondant: there's a wire frame through it to help keep it upright.

Aren't they amazingly fun? *collapses* Everything that could have gone wrong has, and then some!

Haha, hopefully I'm not posting a broken wreck next! The first cake ended in disaster, so now I'm just focusing on the topper and doing a very simple cake design to go with it.
What exciting cake adventures do you have planned next week?

That's a good idea. The topper will be the main focus. The
last thing you need is to spend more hours on the cake.
...and I must be mad, but I've got a 3D one to do for my eldest.
I'm going to try and create a Spyro the dragon. I'm hopeing
there is enough picture on-line to get the right look I'm after.
If not, I'll have to get the kids to put the game on and try to take some photo's
off the telly.

Well...it's proving to be quite testing...
I put the game on, and it's not been much help. It's
just like you said with yours, but when you get the angle you want, the camera
adjusts itself back. Never mind, I will just have to rely on my imagination..

Eek! That's so frustrating. At least if it's difficult to get a reference, it's harder to criticize for not being accurate.
