Rarity and Antimony spend quite a few chapters not getting along very well...
At stake is the titular Platinum Crown itself and who or what will shape the future of Canterlot and even Equestria as a whole. Is it power that makes one a Princess and that gives one the right to rule? What does it mean to stand at the apex of the pyramid that is Equestria? A dressmaker from Ponyville challenges the Baroness of Mareseilles.

That's one good looking Antimony. I expected her to look more like Cherry Jubilee.
I may draw her this way when I do my fanart for your story (yes, I am planning in doing you some fanart).
One of the ideas that came to my mind, is doing it similar to that one Scott Pilgrim poster, with the couple in the front and all the antagonists in the background. If I do that one, it will not be the only fanart, as there are some specific scenes I want to capture too.

IIRC, by Rarity's own narrative, the mare with the closest body type to Antimony was Allie Way (the bowling pony).
I know just what you're thinking of, with a "whole cast vertical arrangement" type picture. Those are very cool, but also very ambitious! Especially with such a large main cast. Then again, it isn't much more than the mane six vs evil mane six fanfics have. Specific scenes, too? Make sure to PM me any; I'd love to see them!

I have to confess that this pic gave me huge cognitive dissonance, as it made me realize that my mental image of the various TPC characters had drifted quite a bit away from the show style, both Rarity and Blueblood included. (Especially Blueblood!)

Cognitive dissonance, huh? I guess I can see that, with all they've been through. Rarity is still Rarity, though, no matter the company she keeps, and Bluey is still Bluey, though tempered a bit by the Gala time loops. It was one reason why I was so glad to get these pics done and get some images out there.
To share a little secret, oftentimes when I write, I hardly think of the characters as ponies at all. I still, by rote, use the pony terminology of hooves and whatnot, but in terms of mentality, thought processes, settings, it only comes in later that these characters aren't just odd people who walk on four legs.

I always get a little thrill when someone recognizes it.
On the CD issue, the best I can describe it is that my mental image of the TCP Equestria and ponies therein is like a Renaissance-flavored manga version of the show; still cartoony, still recognizable, but at the same time looking entirely different. Does that make any sense?
(And I'm constantly impressed by how true your Mane Six are to the show, considering the stuff you've put them through and how you've expanded the setting!)

I think, aside from the title piece SweetnTasty did this is the first piece of TPC art ... partly my fault, too, for being away from the art scene myself. I figured the fic could use some, as it enters the final arc.

"Prench" in the fic, but yes, French. As in she's from "Prance" instead of "France."
In TPC's setting, Fleur's family is Prench, but moved to Canterlot several generations back after losing their ancestral lands. So I guess in modern times we'd call her Prench-Canterlotian? Still better than French-Canadian, lol.

If this crown is somewhat magical or have promising power, I would like to wear it become a powerful king.
However, if I can't possess the Platinum Crown (maybe due to being an Earth Pony), I can always sell it to the highest bidder (I need money to buy food you know). But of course, ponies would try to take it just for free.
Why would I want it, simple: it's a treasure.

Also, poor Blueblood. All those crazy mares only looking to use him and lose him. I'm guessing Rarity never imagined she would be the knight in shining armor to Blueblood's damsel in distress.

The two front runners, Antimony and Sand Dune, really were in the "use him and lose him" camp (Antimony taking it quite literally), but Ritterkreuz was at least an old friend who did care about him in a weird, possessive way - she'd just make a terribad Duchess - and as a few have speculated, Yumi was ironically probably the best of the lot, despite being a short tempered earth pony noble with the deck stacked against her. In general, though, the old boy was in a rough spot indeed when it came to his future matrimonials.
Luckily, the marshmallow mare is there to save the day. And the country, too.

Blueblood is very much on Rarity's side of things... TPC is a sequel to the groundhog day fic "Best Night Ever" that retells the events of the Gala (over and over and over). On top of that, Antimony is from a family that has basically devoted itself to destroying and replacing the Canterlot Bluebloods.
The first nine chapters of TPC involve Antimony's unkind introduction to Rarity of the noble classes of Equestria.

I tend to for some reason like characters like prince blueblood in shows and dislike when I see them exaggerated to the most ridiculous level of evil while the actually evil or character that did a similar mean thing get pets on the head.
