Description This guy was drawn for another image, but I thought the difference between shaded and not shaded was significant enough to make a seperate file. It really goes to show what a difference shading can make.

This cylon centurian required seperate layers for highlights and shadows as well as his eye glow and a few other little details. I went with a warm gray theme with cool gray accents to give him a little variety despite the fact that cylons are all a dull silver-gray. Overall I'm relly happy with how he turned out.

Yes, I am a huge Battlestar Galactica fan, but no I really haven't done any fan art except this fellow. It's not really a "fan art kind of show."

A great looking Centurion, I love the attitude this one has. Based off what we've seen of them, I'm not sure it would be able to actually have this pose, but something about it makes me think of a woman in a bad blackploitation movie. This one is going to be trouble.

I love 'em, both look really good in there own ways, the unshaded one looks like a 80's cartoon (which is awesome) fantastic job on both of them!

Thank you! I'm actually kind of surprised with how favorably the unshaded version has been received, particularly when it's seen side-by-side with the shaded one. In my mind, the unshaded version is simply unfinished, but after reading different opinions and comments, it makes me rethink my perspective and look at the unshaded drawing with new eyes. I hadn't thought of it in terms of a style of its own previously.

That's why I love DA, it makes me look twice at even my own art and grow as a cartoonist.

I like the dimentionality that the shading gives.

Yeah. I wish I could do it, I just haven't practiced as much. But the effect when done well is staggering.

i love the cartoony look of the unshaded one, the shaded one still looks incredible, naturally.

The unshaded drawing is certainly faster to draw.
