Did it appear as this red color? I thought lightning bolts were pink in color. This kind of cool orange-red lightning I never thought could be.

Lightning travelling through open air emits white light but the colour that the camera or our eyes see has a lot to do with the atmospheric conditions present at the time (smoke, dust, moisture, etc) and the WB of the camera being used.
