At least it is finished. I started it just before going to Japan in May. I finished the character (again the same guy as in my previous drawings) after my return in France.Then came the problem of the background. It took me 1 month (of course not of intensive work, just from time to time at evenings) to come with a decent background but as the drawing seemed finished.. I suddenly had the "revelation" that it was all wrong. AAAAHHH !
So I started a quick new background and added my cat in it (lol). My little Yuyu is now immortalized on the same drawing as my beloved character (one day he will be smiling, YES).
The previous background was made on photoshop and was my first real experience of painting with this software.. but with this one I came back to open canvas. Just the background on the right is made with photoshop, but who cares.
So it's open canvas again. Another very important tools : MUSIC.

i Love this.
The one thing that bugs me is the lack of lighting treatment... and im not talking fancy lighting.. but... the lack of cast shadows

I had never thought of that, there should be some drop shadow on the wall, at least the for guy.. I had not considered it because I made this background much later than the character, and this "method" (no, lack of method, let's say) always creates a lack of coordination of the whole.. I will try to fix this as soon as I have time to figure out how to do it.. I still have the .psd file so this should be possible.

Sur papier c'est le mieux mais je dois dire qu'avec open canvas c'est super aussi (vive ce logiciel !). Cela dit, inventer les plis c'est une sacrée paire de manches (si je puis dire, lol), ça demande plein d'essais, de corrections, histoire de bien rendre les volumes. Mais qu'on est content quand on a fini !

Oué. le résultat est étonnant! Faut vraiment que je me remette à la couleur, moi... Ca fait cinq ans que je fais que des croquis et les kakis c'est la première fois depuis longtemps que je colorise. Alors Open canvas, tu me donne envie de m'y mettre....^__^

I really think the hard work and the wait paid off brilliantly, it is an excellently executed and visulaised peice. It really captures alot that cant really be expressed with words. For me its just a slice of life snapshot feel that I loev about it. Its so street, so urban and its really captured in the colours and the more washed out colours. Huge respect for all the detail you have placed allover the pic, the BG is simply awsome and the figures are perfectly done (cat being my favourite part). There really is alot I love about this picture, Im just having trouble finding words to sum up these feelings. Rather than rant anymore Ill let my +fav do the talking. You've done a brilliant job here dude, keep it up !

The cat is trying to grab some piece of paper on the trashcan.. haha. He's like my cat, trying to grab everything he can see !!
