I see this is more of an initiation into the Sisters of Battle, or perhaps a ceremony in a worship service to the Emperor.ย I love your work fellow servant of the Golden Throne!

To be honest, this scene feels sad to me. The woman is, essentially,ย about to lose her last shred of free will.

Zoritluus In reply to Khialat [2018-02-19 18:47:31 +0000 UTC]
What free will?
The one that get birth from desire or the one that got birth from destiny?
Oh i see, that wasn't meant to be thought over.
But yes..sad it certainly is!

Dork-Ork In reply to Zoritluus [2020-02-16 19:32:14 +0000 UTC]
I can see how someone would view it like that.ย Personally, I view it more as a promotion ceremony or worship ceremony.ย

Zoritluus In reply to Dork-Ork [2020-02-18 16:31:08 +0000 UTC]
Yes me too.
Many just confuse the lack of destiny with freedom.
Even a supposedly "free" human will always be susceptible to breathing, feeding and the many other burdens or desires that form humankind.ย
If someone is really honest then free will appear an illusion either way.

Nice style on this one, I love the hollow centre point of the picture, with nothing in the middleย you are looking all around the picture trying to determine the main reference point. Good balance, and great composition. Thank-you.

I rather like the artwork.
Much cleaner then most of the official art which is very much a good thing, to much clutter get annoying and obscures the main subject.
I also like how you kept the Skull-count down to a modest seven. Honestly, some recent artworks have more skulls then a graveyard in them.

If the semi/naked ladies are sororitas, they should have power armour interface sockets.
Otherwise nice.

The-Frog-Queen In reply to namezong [2012-09-06 03:24:11 +0000 UTC]
Sororitas don't use plug-in version of Power Armour. They have a plug-free Neural Interface system.
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
namezong In reply to The-Frog-Queen [2012-09-09 20:07:57 +0000 UTC]
What would that mean, and where do you get this from?
I'm pretty sure all power armour use plug in's, its just that space marines have the best interfaces because their bodies are engeneered to accomodate them.
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
Tulon In reply to namezong [2012-11-15 20:24:27 +0000 UTC]
3rd Edition Witch Hunter Codex -> Adepta Sororitas power armour offers identical protection as the Space Marine variant, but (in addition to lacking a few other gadgets such as advanced life support and waste recycler) has to forego direct interfacing as the Sisters are not implanted with the Marines' Black Carapace.
The exact means of control were, to my knowledge, never explained - but various freelance author interpretations exist, ranging from very fine pressure sensors to small pads capable of picking up the tiny electrical currents that enable our muscles to move.

namezong In reply to Tulon [2012-11-16 11:46:29 +0000 UTC]
While sororitas lack Black carapace, it doesn't mean they dont use plugs to interface with Power armour.
See any official depiction of naked marine (Deathwach book for example) and you will notice they have plugs not only on their chest, where black carapace is situated, but all ower their bodies.
So no carapace =/= no plugs.
And if we start referring to non-canon authors, we have multiple depiction of semi/nude sororitas with plugs as well.

Tulon In reply to namezong [2012-11-17 00:15:09 +0000 UTC]
If by "official" we'd be talking GW, then a Space Marine would have his plugs on the back. That's where the neuro-connectors are situated, along the spine, at least as per that one cross-section of power armour that was released.
Of course, this does not exclude something like plugs for individual Battle Sisters - there is always the potential for cybernetics. Likewise, they could possibly remain one of the many options for controlling the armour. It is not the first interpretation that comes to mind when reading the Codex description, however, which notes that unlike the Space Marines, the Sisters of Battle do not "interfacy fully" with their armour as the Space Marines do.
The half-naked Sister Repentia miniatures also do not show any visible plugs on their skin.
On a sidenote, a distinction between "canon" or "non-canon" is not of any actual use in this franchise. There is no canon in 40k - just many, many different interpretations by many, many different authors. It is why we see so many contradictions throughout the various sources. Including FFG's Deathwatch RPG.
