Thanks for making this.
This is an old version of Corel Painter, but I'm sure the principles apply to the new ones too.

I don't think you can buy it anymore. It's an old out-dated version so it's discontinued. I think you can only buy the newest one. I don't know how much it is.

It's an incompatibility issue with the newer Wacom tablets. Unfortunately the only thing to do is upgrade to Painter 9.

Don't worry, there's a similar brush in 9.

Painter 6 Watercolor tutorial...
Painter 6... Wait a second ?
Do you REALLY have : Metacreations Painter 6 !?
I searched trought the ENTIRE (not really... but many hours !) Internet... and I wasn't able to find it... a ''download'' link or anything...
Would REALLY want to have Painter 6... do you know how/where to get it ?

Nova225 In reply to celesse [2009-05-08 05:01:02 +0000 UTC]
Metacreations Painter... is now COREL Painter, since Painter 7, I think...
And, personnally, I think Corel as destroyed (almost) all the things I loved in Painter...
Like the Torsion effect, the ''bubble'' effect... and many other interesting effects that I can't find anymore in Corel Painter X...
........ Do think it's possible for me to get Painter 6 ?
... Like making an ''.ISO'' file of the CD of Painter 6... or something like that ?

I really doubt you can get your hands on Painter 6 unless you find someone that has it and can give it to you. Sorry. I lost it when I moved to 9.

Photoshop can't duplicate Painter's watercolor precisely, but if you play around a bit with your opacity and flow settings you should be able to figure out a similar approach. c:

how do you keep your lineart visible through the color?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
celesse In reply to 8bubblez8 [2008-06-17 18:22:20 +0000 UTC]
Either the line art layer goes over the colors or the color layer is set to Multiply
