Finally finished. All pencil, but for the sepia tone.A little bit to mushy to be comfortable with, I say as Metroid fan, but I like it nonetheless.

It's not Old Bird, because this art's from late 2003, published in 2004, which means this picture is more than twelve years old and has been made before either game was published.
There are children who played Metroid and are younger than this picture.

metroid fan art with that kind of composition, theme and or detail is very hard to come by.
And NOONE makes chozos! Everyone has a different interpretation, even if this seems way too terranean, its.. that was not a real sentence.
But the composition.

Sure, I agree. I did this only from memory of the statues in SuperMetroid and the vow "do not make them look like in that shoddy manga." In my head "Chozo" is kind of stuck stuck as "Birdpeople with strange feathers in the neck." So that's maybe why.

I don't think i can give much critiscim other than to say i think it is a wonderfully rendered image, im not really up to date on the backstory of the piece (Metroid?) you have managed to show amazing emotion in the eyes of the Griffin? this can be difficult with any image including Birds of any kind. Other than that the only thing i can see that takes away from the image is the background, there is so much vitality to the forefront, that the background seems rather blank or to put it another way it seems so much plainer. Anyway i hope that helps if not you have my permission to shoot me (won't work cause you know i have the Odin King of the Gods thing going on,

Yep, it's Metroid.
But now that you'Re saying it... Yes the background is to blank. I should have put some more details in it. But honestly, when I drew the background I didn't know yet what comes into the foreground, so I didn't even consider it. XD
