Thanks to the fanfic I'm working on, I've been thinking alot about the world of Metroid, especially the role of the federation. We know more about the Chozo and the Space Pirates than the organization Samus works for - so it's a very fertile ground for fanfictions.And what would an organization as huge as the federation be without it's bureaucracy? Right, next to nothing.
So here's Samus Aran in the bureau of a guy/gal/tentacled thing who's most likely some kind of liaison officer for bounty hunter issues. Maybe Aran just signed the continuation of her contract with the Federation. It's most likely very lucrative for her.

I wouldn't press her on the paperwork. Samus is in essence wearing a tank with jump jets. When was the last time anyone forced a tank to do anything? Never, that's when.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell, I always think that Halo and Metroid are in the somewhat same universe...
But yeah, Samus does have to go and collect her bounty when she complete her thousands of missions. MAYBE in the new Metroid game that we shall have a deeper view of the Galactic Federation... woooo

Hm yeah you have a point there. There's a lot of lore behind the Chozo and the Space Pirates and all of these other worlds and races... and yet quite little is actualy documented about the human federation.
