Description The way my sketchbook works, most pages contain a primary doodle and a secondary doodle. The primary doodle is large and time-consuming; the secondary doodle is a quick sketch meant to fill up any space not dominated by the primary doodle.

This was a secondary doodle on the same page as the Happy Holidays drawing. I don't think I've ever done offset colors before, but I kind of like the way this turned out.

Well, they're both stark pen drawings, same pen set of black india ink and all... I just digitized this one. I'm considering reworking the "starker" image into something colorful, too.

By the way, thanks with all your help in turning photographed drawings into a digitally-workable canvas. I think I'm almost getting the hang of it now.

all my help?...

hhhhmm... i like the starker line drawings, though... if you post a color version, don't take down the original...

Oh sure. I rarely take down originals because I'd hate to lose their respective commentaries.

P.S. I started two unrelated artsyblogs this week. Should I be ashamed?

ashamed?... no!... in fact, i'm dying to see them... are you posting them on dA?...

All the doodles that I post will be posted in dA as well.

Most of the photos that I post will not be seen over here, because they will be of slightly less than artistic quality.

::laughs:: Casually mentioning my blogthings to two people in one day! This is what I call "publicity."

hey... thanks for the links... i found them very interesting... really and truly... (smile)... another view of what you do...

Start some!

Really, there are photography communities outside of dA!

Not that you'd need to look that far, but setting up new accounts for anything is always fun!

Bahhhhh. If you have time to do dA, you have time to do anything!

Oi, well, then, read a book or go take photos or do something slightly more productive with what would otherwise be your online time.

The internet is an addiction! Chuck it before you need a support group!

(nodding)... actually, that is just what i need to do... but it is difficult with the boys... the nice thing about the internet (and dA) is that i can type a couple sentences... go change a diaper or play blocks... and then come back and finish...

that would be more difficult to do with a book... i'd be reading the same page over and over, trying to get into the story... and i can't really concentrate on imagemaking...

(shrug)... or maybe i am an addict and i'm just making excuses...

COMIC BOOKS are clearly the answer!

I particularly recommend collections of newspaper comic strips, which are only meant to be read one at a time ANYWAY.

Or a graphic novel, if you want to be more mature and artsy about it.

Or... yes, you probably are an addict by now anyway, so there's simply no hope.

that might work... my kids are kind of like animated comics anyway...
