Sparkyyy's February 11th Speed-paint Landscape Challenge [link]uh, so crappy. I spent way to much time on those rocks that I didn't have much time left for the trees. Really good practice though. Admittedly I started on one of the hardest ones in the challenge.

Aw thanks! still learning myself. I'm not used to the 2hr time limit at all. I honestly think yours is great too. I'm not sure what I could comment on. I love the square stroke technique you used. And I think you did better on the rocks then I did.

This came out wonderfully! I'm absolutely in love with all the texture. I think you captured the original image really well, but also added a little twist to make it your own. Great job on this speed paint! ^^

thank you! I was so nervous posting this... rocks were so annoying! I was at a 1 hour and 30 mins when I got to the trees and green stuff that I just never was happy with how the rocks rendered. oy. I hope my next one goes better.

I would! If I had the time. I'm full-time in art school, taking 7 classes!
I'm going for graphic design, but my true calling is illustration.
Maybe I'll try landscapes in fantasy illustration. That's a class I have.

oooo I can not stress how important it is if your real passion is illustration. Follow it! Unless you really like graphic design and like working with idiot clients who know nothing about art. I know too many people that get pulled into because it makes a quick buck but are never happy.

Well, I don't mind graphic design. I'm pretty interested in it, but I'm more interested in illustration. I'm going for graphic design because there's more of a demand for them. To be a concept artist, (which is my dream job) you don't even need a degree. They only look at your portfolio. So I'm going to graduate with a degree in graphic design and continue to work on a killer portfolio to present to big game and movie companies!
I've got it all planned out!
