Description The Pacific Autonomy was a far-left revolutionary anarchist movement that emerged in the uncertain period following the advances of the Patriotic Cross in the South and West. The revolutionary movement combined elements of marxist, socialist, and anarchist ideologies into a unified Communalist system as it attempted to assert itself. The Autonomy grew from a disorganized protest movement into an expansive insurgency after the mobilization of the Washington national guard in mid-2021 to quell increasingly violent riots in Seattle and the surrounding metroplex. Protests had arisen out of anger resulting from the Biden administration's slow reaction to the Southern insurgency as well as from various climate-related and racial unrest. Due to the existing far-right insurgency in the South, the situation was very volatile and there was little patience for dissent in the already polarized political climate. The deaths and arrest of many protesters at the hands of guardsmen only served to inflame the protests into rebellion by discrediting the widely considered weak and inept Biden administration. That a liberal administration would repeat the sins of the Trump administration lent credit to the idea that America's political institutions no longer served the people and had to be overthrown, and thus, the Revolution began. Fighting to overturn what they saw as a corrupt and ineffective system of government, the movement quickly armed itself with low grade weaponry and overwhelmed the garrison of police and guardsmen in Seattle, allowing them to seize control of its various police precincts. Armed with the abandoned weapons caches found at the precincts, and with many civilian and commandeered national guard vehicles, the rebellion was able to make sweeping gains in the Cascade region. Within their territory, leftists took to enacting their revolution, forcefully redistributing wealth and executing non-compliant business executives. Unlike with the Patriotic Cross, President Biden did not hesitate to apply the 1807 Insurrection Act to the situation, as it had already been invoked in the South. America seemed on the brink of a 3-way civil war, however the limited scale and lack of widespread support for either violent movement prevented this escalation. The rebellion declared itself the "Pacific Autonomy" on November 2nd, 2022, crystallizing its scattered administration systems and patchwork of local leaders into a single sophisticated government based out of the birthplace of the revolution, Seattle. Notably, the cities of Vancouver, Portland, and Eugene overthrew their own city governments in order to welcome the rebels and join the Autonomy. This success was not to last however, and with the arrival of the US military in force as well as airstrikes and a blockade by the Pacific Fleet, the Autonomy began to collapse. Often facing little resistance, Federal forces were able to quickly sweep back across Cascadia, isolating the Autonomy to the Tacoma-Seattle-Everett line by mid-2023. Here, the fighting would intensify. Battling only the most radicalized of the Autonomy's rebels, Federal forces only managed slow and bloody progress. The Siege of Seattle would last 5 months, and end in January, 2024, with around 30,000 military and civilian casualties. In total, the rebellion cost the lives of nearly 70,000 people and seriously weakened the economy of the region. Famine would continue in Oregon and Washington until 2026, when the last infrastructure reconstruction efforts were completed. Post-war many of the Autonomy's leaders would be tried for treason, however few faced execution and the majority served life sentences in Federal prison. Unlike in the South, the rebellion came to be seen as a nostalgic and heroic chapter in the history of Cascadia, one which they endured together and created a sense of national unity between Cascadians.Β

Very cool! If I may, as a resident of the Portland area, you have Gresham where Oregon City should be. Gresham would be under the R in Portland.

Their ideology takes elements of syndicalism, communism, and anarchism and combines them into a communalist government which is very decentralized. When I said their scattered local administrations crystallized into one government I meant that they became one bureaucracy and began working together in a patchwork of temporary departments. They are called the autonomy to emphasize their separation from the US government and exist purely as a transitional form of government during their revolution.

They are communalist with elements of syndicalism, communism, an anarchism and have people in their government who subscribe to each of those ideologies

I believe it was yours, I’m not on my computer right now so I can’t check, but someone said they were tired of seeing Southern uprising scenarios

Jeff Bezos lived and Canadians largely ignored the uprising due to contempt for Americans and fear of refugees.

I made the flag quickly and without much thought, and then being pushed back isn’t them giving up, they just weren’t a strong enough force to resist the US military in a significant way too far from their core territory. If they’d had more time and more territory to incorporate they could’ve become more than a regional rebellion
