Description Ooh, another past related comic strip!
...with a scene from William's life.
He's summoned his mother -with the help of his blue crystal-, Eirinn [link] who is an Elf (Tuatha De Danann race)

Willie has always been ambitious and strong-willed as well as arrogant. He never really liked humans much, thinks he's better and smarter and stronger (in every way) than them. pffftt--rude Elf
So, you understand for yourselves, that a teenage half-Elf with his personality isn't the kind of guy who takes advice or orders or any kind of word from his human dad.hehehe!

Brian (Will's dad) isn't mean, he actually wants to protect his beloved son.
More and more people are being christianized and the Old Ways are being forgotten little by little every year...
...His son already has two pointy ears and distinguishing fair hair, so he doesn't need any more attention from the King's men(they could throw him in the fire for herecy due to that fire trick!)

...Mister Brian has been feeling weak lately and that fever hasn't decreased for the past three days.
I think you can guess the rest...

Well, yes it was kind of sad, during those times, all these people being burned in fires just for loving nature and its elements... and poor Eriu, can't even spend some more time with her beloved son and husband...but Will is a strong guy, he'll get through it all just fine (with some help and support from his fairy tutor too, of course!)

Well, those times were sad and dark, having people burnt for loving nature and its miracles....And Will is a bit unlucky 'cause his mother can't be joining them again soon(not even physically anymore) if King's men find out that the Scots have relations with the Fair Folk, or with summonings and migic...bad things will happen for sure
But William is a strong guy, and will get through this all just fine(but he also has his fairy tutor to help him get through tough times)

This was really prettily drawn. The 3rd was sweet :3 I really liked this, I love getting insight to character's backstories. This was really interesting.

I kind of grinned at the "I'm 15" line but then I remembered that people had to grow up quicker way back when then I felt stupid. Whoops

Totally love the scenery and dynamism in the second panel, it gave me this sort of β€˜Swan Lake’ feel. The expressions in the third panel are so sweet it’s to die for and I really like the fourth panel from the end, it works well having Eirinn break through the contours of the panel. Definitely a little experiment that paid off .

As for the actual content. I think the scene is very realistic for what would happen to a character that’s in between races like William is, knowing two worlds, but not belonging to either of them for a 100% and both parents trying to do the best thing for him without him realizing. I also believe you did wonderful on the change in emotions both characters go through here. It’s very realistic and believable when you’re reading it.

Snotty-nosed arrogant little brats grow up to be arrogant jerks! WHO I LOVE! Poor old Will. He had it a bit tough, having to see his Mum naked and all. XD

He should hide his ears with ridiculous knitted hats. That would be awesome. I love knitted hats. Although, I don't think he's want to. He's probably proud of them.

hahaha yeah, she is! I know it might look a bit weird, but it's because in order to summon her all by himself (and without Orin's help) William had to use her element(water--that pond there) as a medium of "transport" between the two worlds. She's not physically present, that's also why she can't really hug him, she's mostly...talking water(so no clothes!LOL)

Thanks! I think she's one of my best feminine designs concerning the comic strips so far

Will is mean, and would really do anything to achieve his goals...meaning, having his dad conveniently dead now that he wants to start his own life, gives him the unexpected opportunity to "choose his destiny" if you want
So, "evil" is a nice way to put it

Oh, yes she really does! And she feels so bad and guilty for being forced by her people to leave her baby in the Upper World(as the Tuatha De Danann call it)
But it's true that William is mean with his dad, doesn't really count on him for anything, he believes he's lesser of a being than himself(like he does with every human)
So, having him conveniently dead now that he's almost done with his education(7 years of tutoring in all) gives him the opportunity to "choose his own destiny" if you want.

Well, yes he did, not normal anyway.
His father was always there for him though, and his mother's visitings from times to times created a nice family figure for him(in fact the best that could be achieved, since if Eirinn stayed too long in the Upper World she'd grow old and die)
But I believe that Will could have turned a better person than he is. Anyway, he made his choices
