i dont like my style that much though, i mean i dont utterly hate it but it's so full of deadends and compromises, like if working with colors for example. I guess it's just the lack of practice xD
and i must start painting characters to get better, cause i cant paint people at all

Have you heard of posemaniacs.com? It's a site where there's a bunch of 3D figure models that you can rotate to do figure studies. It's awesome and it's an inexpensive way to start out with figures.

Oh yeah, i used some figures from there for reference, although i found them with google images. the site itself is cool aswell.
But if talking about reference pictures i dont have problems finding them anyway, i think i can force some friends to pose for me too xD
but even with reference it's not that easy to make decent character design

It takes practice like everything else. Trust me, I consider myself a noob at digital painting but all that I do now is practice so I can become better at this media.

Yeah i know the practice part. Some things are still easier to master than others (chinese language for example xD) i will concentrate on environments for now, characters are secondary, i just want paint them decently (to put them into scenes and all... i dont really want to do real character designs or anything)
